11-Year-Old Details Kidnapping Into Sex Slavery

After being lured from her Bronx home by a sexual predator seven months ago, an 11-year-old has returned home, and told the Daily News about how her kidnappers pimped her out to men in their Lower East Side apartment. The girl managed to call her grandmother, who told her to run from the Delancey Street apartment while her captors slept. She was eventually found by cops, and is undergoing treatment at a Westchester clinic. She said of her captors, "I want them to go through pain 24 hours a day. I want someone to make them do stuff the way they made me do stuff...I want them to go through what I went through. I think about nothing but anger." more ›

No One To Blame In Death of Diplomat's Daughter

No One To Blame In Death of Diplomat's Daughter

Last summer Nicole John, the 17-year-old daughter of then-Ambassador to Thailand Eric John, fell 22 stories to her death from an apartment in Midtown. Yesterday related charges against Ilan Nassimi, the 25-year-old whose apartment she fell from, were dropped. Though John may have been drinking at Nassimi's home she had also been drinking earlier that night at Tenjune. That fact, along with the two fake IDs she had on her, made it hard for lawyers to prove that Nassimi had been serving booze to minors. more ›

Ambassador's 17-Year-Old Daughter Partied With Fake ID

Early yesterday, the 17-year-old daughter of the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand fell over 20 stories to her death in Midtown, after a night of partying. While it's unclear whether she was drinking (an autopsy is being performed), Nicole John apparently had a fake ID; on her Tumblr blog (now removed), she gave advice, "As long as the ID is pretty legit looking it should be okay. It’s also easier if you’re a girl, lol. I have a brazilian ID that was made here in NYC and it’s really good, it’s never been rejected." more ›

Brooklyn Teacher Caught in Child Sex Sting

Brooklyn Teacher Caught in Child Sex Sting

26-year-old Brighton Beach high school teacher Alexander Kravitz was arrested this week in a Queens hotel room, where prosecutors say he hoped to make a porn video with a 14-year-old girl to whom he'd been sending salacious instant messages and graphic live webcam video of himself. But the girl did not exist—Kravitz had been communicating with an undercover detective for the last six weeks. According to 1010 Wins, he could get four years in jail if convicted of several charges. After being released on $75,000 bail, Kravitz angrily cursed reporters outside his mother's Queens home, where he resides. It's also where detectives found his porno stash, which police say included images of sex with children ranging from in age from 13 to infants. Kravitz's mother Katherine told the Daily News, "I don't believe any of it. It has to be a mistake. I've never seen any young man work so hard. I don't see how he'd even have the time." more ›

Spitzer's Corner Busted For Underage Drinking

Popular Lower East Side gastropub Spitzer’s Corner is in trouble for serving alcohol to minors. Eater has it that the establishment, which boasts 40 "world-class" craft beers and microbrews on tap, was “infiltrated” by an undercover police informant who was served alcohol without being carded. The owners are paying a fine, the bartender is fired, and the neighborhood nightlife – which on weekends makes Mardi Gras look like a model U.N. meeting – just might get a tiny bit less rowdy if this is part of a wider crackdown. (We can dream.) more ›
