Kevin Weekes looked stellar between the pipes, stopping 29 of 30 shots and Matt Cullen, Martin Straka and Brendan Shanahan scored. - American League 3, National League 2: The Mets' David Wright hit a home run and his teammate Carlos Beltran scored the second run, but Trevor Hoffman couldn't close the deal in the ninth inning, and the American League won another All-Star Game. The Yankees' Mariano Rivera earned another All-Star save.

Kevin Brown returned to the place where he broke in to the major leagues, but he was not welcomed back kindly. The Texas Rangers tagged him for five runs (four earned) in only five innings. Hopefully it was just a poor outing and not a step back for Kevin Brown. Brown's counterpart, Ryan Drese, managed to hold the Yankees to five hits over seven innings and zero runs. The Rangers held on for a 7-1 victory.
