The Lohan-Ledger Connection

These Lohan family tapes keep getting released, and allegedly the latest recorded conversation between Lindsay's parents reveals that the actress was dating Heath Ledger back in January 2008... when he died! Dun dun dun. Mama Lohan told her ex-husband during this particular phone conversation, "I don't know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends. Very, very close, okay? That fucked her up. When she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it, she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking." She went on to say that Ledger's death set her daughter off into the downward spiral. And the fastest way to help her out of that downward spiral is to release private conversations about her personal life.

From the inbox comes a press release whose subject line pretty much says it all: "Highest Bidder Gets a Chance to Knock Out Lindsay Lohan's Father Michael In Charity Boxing Match." It goes on to explain that Michael Lohan, subject of many hate-blogs posted by Lindsay and her good friend Samantha Ronson on their MySpace pages, is putting himself on auction to highest bidder to box three rounds in the annual Long Island Fight For Charity. Ideally Ms. Ronson would get up there herself, but since that isn't happening (yet!), the charity suggests you submit an offer (starting at $5,000) to boxing(a)lifightforcharity(dot)com. Lohan himself wanted to get K-fed in the ring with him, but "there was no funding source." Who will benefit from the beatdown? Organizations like Family Residence and Essential Enterprises who help more than 3,000 individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.

Following their Nassau County Family Court appearance yesterday regarding visitation rights, Michael and Dina Lohan held a joint press conference to let the press know they will no longer be talking to them. In fact, The Daily News reports that Dina's lawyer said the two want to keep their lives private. Presumably they mean starting now, but everyone with basic cable is given a weekly (albeit edited) glimpse into Living Lohan on Dina's reality show, and Michael blogs about it for OK! Magazine. Still, the two would like to control the press and dim the spotlight on the family's little secrets (even if everyone can see their most famous daughter's private MySpace profile).

"They really want the press to stay out of their lives," said Eugene Russo, Dina's lawyer. "They're doing what's in the best interest of the children. They would appreciate if they are allowed to participate in the childrens' lives without the press."
