It's been nearly a year since Will Smith and his massive private trailer were evicted from the SoHo streets during the filming of Men In Black III. So it's time to move forward, forget about the mobile McMansion, and focus on the finished product. In December the first trailer for the movie dropped, but now there's a much more substantial one, which was released today. In it, you'll see Smith and Tommy Lee Jones go back to a 1969 New York City, where Smith declares at a party: "Y'know, I don't have no problem pimp-slapping the shiznit outta Andy Warhol." (Really! Last year there was a casting call for Men In Black III, where a call out specified "people that are less than 4’10 and more than 6’5 in height to play aliens. Men and women to play late 1960s New Yorkers." Another last month noted they were still looking for "1969 New Yorkers (hippies, beatnik poets, 60s celebrity look-a-likes, bikers, models, etc)" and explained "most scenes take place in 1969 and men and women must be willing to get a hair cut and to work around smoke." more ›

The on again/off again third installment of the Men In Black series is back in production around town (they've been filming at the Marcy Armory in Brooklyn and, for the most part, Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens). The film will star Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones once again, and the Hollywood Reporter has a pretty lengthy piece on the seemingly cursed project—which thus far has included script rewrites, delayed filming, a money-sucking hiatus, and also Will Smith reportedly hates the writing! First of all: they're making a Men in Black 3—make that 3-D—and Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords is going to be playing the villain! The movie isn't out until 2012, however, so hopefully they have IMAX theaters in the underground cities they're building for when End of Days is upon us. more ›
