Twelve people were injured after a city bus and several other vehicles collided in Brooklyn this morning. According to the FDNY, the accident occurred just before 10 a.m. in Midwood at Avenue J and Ocean Avenue. The MTA said a Meals On Wheels truck ran a red light and slammed into a B11 bus. FDNY added that of those 12 injuries, nine were taken to local hospitals in serious (but not life-threatening) condition.At least three of the people injured in the crash were on the bus, including the driver. One other vehicle was involved in the crash with the Meals On Wheels truck and the bus.

Robbery a Possible Motive in Meals on Wheels Deliveryman's Murder
Police suspect that the fatal shooting of a Meals on Wheels deliveryman at Brooklyn's Brownsville Houses yesterday morning may have been prompted by a robbery attempt. The Daily News reports that Emanuel Aminov's "wallet was found empty near the body, leading investigators to believe that robbery was the motive for the lethal ambush." His wife told the NY Times, "He was delivering food to poor people, and they shot him down."

Seriously, WTF: A Meals on Wheel delivery man was fatally shot this morning. WCBS 2 says the "55-year-old victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was gunned down in the lobby of a building in the Brownsville Houses at 341 Dumont Ave." and was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. WABC 7 says he just "rang the bell to Apt. 1D moments before he was shot." Also, the police are "looking for a black male in his 20s wearing a hooded sweatshirt who apparently fled the scene."
