Madonna and her daughter Lourdes have launched a new clothing line called Material Girl, and they're currently seeking a "Lucky Star" to be the face of the brand (what happened to Kelly O?). This behind the scenes footage was posted on the clothing line's YouTube, so presumably Madonna cleared it—but why? Her Madgesty comes off as being sort of terrible. In it, she says she just "isn't sure people understand irony anymore"—so maybe this was scripted and meant to be ironic, in which case, we're not sure Madonna understands irony anymore. Because telling her teenage daughter that she'll "swell up" when she grabs a plate of fruit is pretty much totally what we would expect to see as a fly on the wall. Lourdes, however, totally nailed the mouthing-off teenager schtick:

Video: Sean Lennon Performs "Material Girl" At Occupy Wall Street
Zuccotti Park is becoming a regular destination spot for musicians, and yesterday evening Sean Lennon was the latest to drop by. Following his short performance with some famous friends, he Tweeted to the masses: "Just played, 'Material Girl,' by Madonna at Occupy Wall Street w Josh Fox, Dustin Hamman, and Rufus Wainwright! The revolution is televised!" Sadly, he didn't stick around for the General Assembly, but below you can watch video from the performance. (He has also posted some photos on his Tumblr.)
Material Girl Takes Over Mars Bar, Lit
Recently Kelly Osbourne became a model for the Material Girl line—replacing Jenny Humphrey!—run by Madonna and her daughter Lourdes. For the shoot, they revisited Madonna's old stomping ground of the East Village, and used some of its mainstay bars as a backdrop—namely Mars Bar and Lit. Of the former, Lourdes says, "there were people drinking there and it was, like, three in the afternoon. There were some interesting people there. I think they didn't even notice that there was, like, a girl in short shorts being photographed." Check out some video from the shoot below:
Madonna Falls From Horse, Blames Paparazzi
Madonna's publicist is saying that the pop singer was tossed from a horse because paparazzi jumped out of the bushes and startled the 50-year-old Material Girl and her horse. The Post reports that she "was leaping over hurdles on a brown steed" at friend Steven Klein's Bridgehampton horse farm" (the Post also has photos). She suffered minor injuries and bruises but will need other tests and observation; according to the Daily News, she is "recovering at friend Gwyneth Paltrow's Amagansett estate." In 2005, Madonna broke her collarbone after falling from a horse on her British estate, an experience she called the "most painful" of her life (it may have also led to the demise of her marriage with Guy Ritchie). But in 2006, Madonna was featured in W magazine in a photo spread by Klein called "Madonna Rides Again."
Madonna Sues Co-op, Dances, and Teaches Kids
It's all in an Upper West Side day for the Material Girl! The tabloids have reported that Madonna is suing her co-op, claiming the board blocked her attempt to buy a neighbor's apartment. Madonna has a 6,000 square foot apartment at Harperley Hall at 41 Central Park West - a duplex with hair salon and gym. The summons filed in Manhattan Supreme Court accuses the board and Midboro Management of "breach of contract...and orders...
