Making The Call: Speak Up A-Rod!

Making The Call: Speak Up A-Rod!

For years it has seemed like New York’s biggest complaint about Alex Rodriguez is that he isn’t Derek Jeter. It never mattered what A-Rod did, it didn’t live up to what Jeter has already accomplished. In light of yesterday’s revelations, A-Rod can only hope he returns to a world where measuring up to Jeter is his biggest problem. The story seems unimpeachable and the charge is sensational: A-Rod failed a steroid test in 2003. more ›

Pettitte Admits to Using HGH

Andy Pettitte is a cheater. He confirmed this yesterday when he apologized for and admitted to using HGH. In a statement issued yesterday, Pettitte said that he used human growth hormone on two occasions, both to recover from a 2002 elbow injury and not for performance enhancement reasons.

"In 2002 I was injured. I had heard that human growth hormone could promote faster healing for my elbow. I felt an obligation to get back to my team as soon as possible. He didn't just watch history, he happened to catch it. Or grab it, at least. Murphy, wearing a Mets jersey and t-shirt, and a buddy (wearing Yankees gear) bought a pair of tickets from a scalper before yesterday's game while on their one-day layover to Australia. As an aside: we've never understood the allure of attending a game wearing apparel of a team that isn't actually playing in that game. more ›

The next name up on Jose Canseco's mudslinging list is none other than Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. In an interview Friday with Boston radio station WEEI, the former Oakland A's slugger and former Yankee said that he had the "other stuff on Alex Rodriguez," and that he plans on laying out the details in a book he's shopping to publishers now. When the radio-host asked if A-Rod was on steroids, Canseco said "Wait and see." more ›
