A Bronx mother and daughter were arrested yesterday after it came out that the mother gave the 17-year-old girl pepper spray to use against bullies at her high school. Tracy Morales, 38, is accused of giving her four months pregnant daughter Clerissa Loucks a canister of pepper spray and encouraging her to use it. A Queens father who allegedly beat his wife and threatened to kill his kids was taken down by police after a heated confrontation early this morning. Police say the 42-year-old man yelled, "You're going to have to shoot me," and that he would not be taken alive, while also refusing to drop the two knives he was holding. Ten people are filing a $50 million lawsuit against the city, accusing the NYPD of using excessive force when breaking up a Labor Day party in East Flatbush, the Daily News reports. The website Rhythm and Bleu has posted a series of from-the-hip videos from the Dominican Day Parade on August 8th. Most of the videos, shot in Washington Heights, show revelers crowding the streets, playing music, singing, and grinding together like millstones in a gristmill. It's all good clean fun, but then the cops had to roll up. As an NYPD cruiser and an unmarked cop car slowly make their way through the massive, chanting crowd, two plainclothes officers suddenly exit the vehicle and spray mace at the bystanders, seemingly without warning. The mafia associate accused of macing and mugging a Craigslist seller in a botched jewelry heist claims that he's the one who got roughed up. Gerald DeGerolamo, 65, told the Post that when he attempted to purchase an engagement ring from David Cushman on Dec. 26, the seller broke his nose, left him with a gash on his head, and sprayed him with mace. A 65-year-old Mafia associate is accused of arranging to meet a man who was selling an engagement ring on Craiglist — then spraying the man in the face with mace. According to the Post, mobster Gerald DeGerolamo responded to an ad for a ring posted by victim David Cushman and agreed to meet on Dec. 26 in front of 125 Christopher Street. When Cushman pulled out the ring, the suspect grabbed it and sprayed him with the irritant. An onlooker alerted cops, who nabbed the DeGerolamo. more ›
