Geez, the weather this winter has been uneventful. There's no letup of dull weather in sight, at least in New York. We took a gander at LAist this morning only to see that Los Angeles has more snow than Gotham City. The massive west coast storm has dropped up to eighteen inches of snow at higher elevations in Los Angeles County.

A look at some noteworthy television this week:
The tabloids and cable news media got a weekend windfall when a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ordered socialite Paris Hliton back to jail. The Post called her a "Wailbird" while the Daily News described her as a "blubbering blond". And let's not even discuss the ridiculous coverage of her arrest at her home and the TV helicopters following her to court on TV.
It's a tabloid Saturday jackpot as a Los Angeles County judge sentenced "celebrity" Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail. Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer agreed with prosecutors who felt that Hilton's driving with a suspended license (she was busted for DUI on September 7, 2006, ordered to go to alcohol education this past February, and then was pulled over yet again in late February) deserved jail and sentenced the infamous sometimes New Yorker to 45 days in jail. Both the Post and Daily News put her on their covers and detailed yesterday's hearing. From the News:
When a prosecutor asked if she read the license suspension notice that was mailed to her from the DMV, she replied, "I have people do that for me."Continue reading "More Than One Night in Jail For Paris"
For shame to those in the upper crust of New York's income levels! There are only 62,773 of you in New York County, ranking you 13th on a list ranking the country's millionaires. A study by TNS Financial Services tallied up the most households with a net worth of over $1 million in counties across the country. Ranking waaaay at the top of the list is Los Angeles County with 262,800 millionaires and Cook County, where Chicago is located, with 167,873 households. Perhaps our fair city would do better if primary residences were included in net worth and if the five boroughs were combined. Then again, looking at that list, we're sure all the primary residences are ridiculously expensive.
Man, if Courtney Love thinks taking her case to Rush & Molloy is going to win her some support, she clearly is insane. Love talks to the Daily News' gossip mongers in order to give a glimpse into her mental health, as she tries to get custody of poor little Frances Bean back, after Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services placed her 11 year-old child with Kurt's mother, Wendy O'Connor when police arrested Love for, oh, being under the influence of controlled substance (and breaking the windows of her ex-boyfriend's house) and overdosing on OxyContin. Some gems:
