LIU Professor Pulls A Plaxico, Shoots Himself In The Leg

Oops. A faculty member at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University pulled a Plaxico this morning and accidentally shot himself in the leg [Reg. Req'd]. The staff member, whose name has not been released, is an adjunct professor. According ot he Nassau County police he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. For many 1010WINS listeners, some sad news: Financial analyst Larry Wachtel who would gave financial advice on 1010WINS for 33 years died on Sunday. He died suddenly of a heart ailment on Sunday. Wachtel grew up in Brooklyn, attended Long Island University and had worked in the finance industry, retiring from Wachovia Securities in 2005. Last night at the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University, the Brooklyn Bombshells handed the Queens of Pain their first defeat ever in the short history of the Gotham Girls Roller Derby. There were elbows thrown, hips checked, and girls going down left and right. Brooklyn came out on top in front of a sold out home crowd that saw a match that wasn't decided until late into the 2nd half.
