A plainclothed Brooklyn cop was badly injured when he was pinned between cars during a routine traffic stop yesterday. According to the Post, the unidentified detective had pulled over a black vehicle in Flatbush with four men inside; he was standing behind the car when a white van rammed into him, crushing his legs and sending blood everywhere. “When they pulled him out of the car, his legs were hanging, dangling, it was terrible, there was blood everywhere,” said one witness.

Cindy Adams Saw A Lot Of Sarah Palin's Legs
Nearly a week after former Alaska Governor and possible 2012 contender Sarah Palin's Q&A with the Long Island Association, the Post's Cindy Adams offers up her observations: "Her advance team had pre-prepped everything ... except maybe for the fact that she'd be seated on a raised platform. The short, tight skirt crept up. Nice knees up to nice thighs smack at our eyeball height."
Drunk Man Wins $2.3 Million for Falling in Front of Subway
Dustin Dibble says he was so drunk he doesn't remember being run over by an N train in the Union Square subway station in April of 2006, but his intoxicated condition didn't stop a jury from awarding him $2.3 million last week. Dibble had part of his right leg amputated after the incident, and he says he'll use the money to cover his medical expenses. The jury agreed with lawyer Andrew Smiley's contention that the motorman had plenty of time to stop the train when he spotted Dibble, 25, lying on the tracks 180 feet away, but he kept moving because "he thought it was garbage." Smiley tells the News, "They're not allowed to hit you just because you're drunk and on the track. That doesn't give the Transit Authority a free pass." The payout is double what the MTA had to cough up in 2006, when a Queens man sued after losing his legs below the knees during a drunken romp on the 7 train tracks. And last year a Columbia University study confirmed the obvious: drinking and riding the subway is stupid, unless you're willing to trade your legs for some big cash moneys.
Weiner Talks About Palin's Gams
The Observer has video of Representative Anthony Weiner trying to make a Sarah Palin joke. But it's just terrible (and terribly sexist): Referring to the VP debate, Weiner says, "Undeniably, undeniably, we saw a vice presidential candidate who had nice legs. I won’t dispute that... but we also saw a vice-presidential candidate who tried to explain her running mate’s health care position.”
