Last Day For Hipsters Not To Mail In Their Census
After news that Williamsburg had the lowest rate of completing and mailing their 2010 Census forms—and a scathing NPR segment that suggested hipsters were too cool to complete them*—Stephen Colbert decided to look at the situation, suggesting it could be a genius plan to increase their hipster cred. Here's video (hipster census part starts at 1:50):
Lazy Paterson Says He's "Very Active" In Budget Talks
Despite having been brushed aside as a “spectator” by an Assembly Democrat, Gov. Paterson claims he’s “been very active” in wrestling out a budget to fix the state’s $9 billion deficit. In fact, it’s those other guys who are lazy. “I've called for budget meetings, which they don't seem to want to do," Paterson said after an appearance at the Hillcrest Jewish Center in Flushing, reports the Post, adding that, "We've done everything we're supposed to do."
Aides: Paterson is Lazy and "Insanely Mercurial"
Now that Paterson’s reputation is totally shot, aides felt free to dish about their boss to the Post. Most noticeable in their reports was the governor’s shocking and previously observed laziness. Though, sources say, he’s sometimes unreachable for three days and usually leaves work at 4 p.m., when he is in the office he runs a tight ship. He makes everyone (including disgraced aide David Johnson) call him Governor, and won’t be disturbed during his lunch hour. Other derogatory descriptions of Paterson: “very detached” with a very light schedule, a “baby” and “insanely mercurial.”
Fred Thompson Drops Out of Presidential Race
To no one's surprise, Senator-turned- actor-turned- presidential- candidate-wannabe Fred Thompson has dropped out of the hunt for the Republican party nomination. Thompson had not done very well in any of the early caucuses or primaries and his exit may actually mean a bump for Mike Huckabee, who has a similar more-conservative-than-the-others platform.
