A Kings of Leon show in St. Louis was cut short last night due to a gross intervention by a mean bird. The Riverfront Times reports the band stopped playing after just three songs because a bird pooped in bassist Jared Followill's mouth! Fans were upset after the lights came on, chanting "Refund! Refund!" but drummer Nathan Followill tweeted, "So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons shitting in jareds mouth. Too unsanitary to continue...Don't take it out on Jared, it's the fucking venues fault. You may enjoy being shit on but we don't. Sorry for all who traveled many miles" You're on alert, JellyNYC performers.

General Admission: Voxtrot @ Rothko
It's exciting to see a band like Voxtrot at this point in their development. They have a unique blend of untapped potential and lo-fi naïveté. They are still so young. So raw. Their on stage persona is that of a bunch of kids messing around in their parents garage after school. It's fun and free and almost hard to take too seriously. What's so fascinating is that, in stark contrast to this novice image, they have written a collection of absolutely perfect pop songs that are light-years ahead of where their experience would lead you to believe they should be. A band this amateur shouldn't be able to create songs like this. It just doesn't add up.

This Week's Music Picks
We couldn't help but notice the abundance of talented white male rockers invading NYC this week. New and old and originating from various corners of the Earth, the white boys of rock n' roll are invading. Let us be your guide.
Cabaret License: This Week's Music Megalist
If you missed out on tickets to the Futureheads tonight there are still a lot of other great shows this week. Tonight we suggest the Epochs. We were handed their cd upon leaving the Arcade Fire show at Irving earlier this month. Upon listening we discovered some uncomparable eclectic electro-acoustic-pop (say that 3 times fast). They play at the Knitting Factory tap bar tonight at 10:30 (for free). Before they go on check out Mommy and Daddy at 8pm downstairs in the Knit's Old Office.
