After Page Six alluded to The Gansevoort Hotel staff as being just a tad anti-semitic, the hotel retorted saying that the incident on New Year's Eve that led to the allegation was a misunderstanding. Their side of the story includes having to kick out a yarmulke-less (and apparently racist) "ill-behaved boyfriend of a member of Kid ['I love Jewish people'] Rock's PR team." Today Grub Street asked "which member of Kid Rock’s PR team brought in this ruffian," saying they were "not at all surprised that it involves Kid Rock."

Not So Happy Jew Year at G-Spa?
Page Six has reports of some nasty antisemitism that went down at the Hotel Gansevoort’s regrettably named G-Spa lounge. A witness tells the Post that a Jewish guest – who had paid for a ticket to the festivities – was insulted by the club’s staff for wearing a yarmulke.
Gothamist's Week in Rock: New Year's Hangover Edition
The Time Warner on-screen guide simply said "Tila Tequila" on MTV when the clock struck midnight last Monday, leading a casual observer to assume they were blowing through a marathon of her depressing reality show. But oh no! The oddly shaped, elfish face of the network apparently gets sole, top billing over the biggest night of the year as the host of MTV's annual New Years Eve party. She was mostly responsible for stumbling through some lines on her way to introducing the lineup of bands on tap, including the likes of Good Charlotte, Kid Rock and a somehow still relevant Wyclef. While those in attendance seemed to be having a fine time, it may pain music fans to see the network has no sign of changing their tune in the new year, rolling out the same rehashed schlock they've been shoveling for most of the decade. Cobra Starship summed it up best in their post-balldrop interview: "A lot of bands are trying to be credible...we wanna be in-credible in '08!" No word yet what role Gabe Saporta will play in "Shot of Love, Season 2." (pic via MTV)
Queens Drinks: Terraza Cafe Art
As the name implies, Terraza Cafe Art is a rather Bohemian hang complete with an eclectic decor we like to call Colombian folkloric hippie.
Hilfiger, Please!
Of all the possible "celebrities" you'd expect to get in a fight, Axl Rose would probably be on the list. But designer of preppy clothing that rapper somehow took a liking to, Tommy Hilfiger? At Rosario Dawson's birthday party at Plumm (VIP Room, natch) last night, apparently Axl Rose moved Hilfiger's girlfriend's drink down the table. And maybe she was jostled by Rose. A witness tells the Daily News, "Tommy put his hand out, Axl grabbed Tommy's arm and pushed it hard, and Tommy came back with a fist." Then, pow pow! Hilfiger punched Rose in the cheek, and then security came over to separate them - the Post says people starting running from room and trampled Kid Rock! Hilfiger was thrown out of Plumm, while Rose stayed to perform, dedicating "You're Crazy" to Hilfiger.
Dirty Little Secrets
The Post kicks off Radiohead's two nights at Madison Square Garden by talking to people who hate Radiohead but have been afraid to admit it because Radiohead are critically beloved and "cool." An entertainment editor says, "Hating Radiohead is the hipster's dirty little secret," and Spin writer Chuck Klosterman, though a fan, can understand the hate as well. "There's definitely now a symbolic value to saying you hate Radiohead - even Kid Rock makes a big deal about hating Radiohead. He even has a video where he's literally using toilet paper with the word 'Radiohead' embossed on it." Kid Rock? Using Kid Rock in an argument about hating Radiohead is like knowing Brett Ratner hates David Lynch - it doesn't matter at all.
12 Year-Old Settles Lawsuit with RIAA For 2 Grand
Little 12 year old old Brianna LaHara, sued by RIAA for downloading songs off Kazaa, is going to settle with RIAA for $2000. The Daily News' exclusive reports that LaHara's mother agreed to pay up (and said Brianna will not be file sharing anytime soon). RIAA was looking for up to $150,000 for the 1000 songs she downloaded, so maybe $2000 in the scheme of things didn't look so bad to LaHara's mother
