Question marks swirled around the Jets and their quarterback, but Chad Pennington must have removed some doubters with his performance during the Jets' 23-16 win over Tennessee on Sunday. Pennington threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns, but more importantly, he didn't look like his arm was the weakest of any NFL starting quarterback. That was the best sign from the Jets' win, which was not exclusively impressive.

Giants-Raiders Preview
They are battered and bruised and will be without their starting tight end, but they should still find a way to beat the Raiders. After all, this game means everything to the Giants and very little to Oakland. If they win they clinch the NFC East and a home playoff game. If they lose, they are probably the sixth seed and head out on the road for what should be a quick exit from the playoffs.
Jets? Heisman?
The sad Jets host the disappointing Raiders, Sunday at 1 p.m. in East Rutherford. With former Giants QB Kerry Collins struggling, Oakland looks to start the physical Marques Tuiasosopo, who hasn't even taken a snap in game action this season.
The Vet vs. The Rookie
There are reports that Eli Manning has looked good in the second mini-camp this off season, improving on his throws and his presence in huddles. When talking to the Daily News, Tiki Barber said, "Every day he's gotten better. The first day he looked like he couldn't play in high school. The second day he started to figure it out and he was more comfortable calling the plays. And as the weeks have gone on we can see he's confident. And when he is confident he throws a great ball, he knows exactly what he's doing." But when contrasting the two quarterbacks for The Times, Barber says, "Just the way Eli talks, with that drawl, it's so slow. When Kurt gets in there, it's much quicker. He exudes confidence. It is different."
Collins Joins Raider Nation
Reports say Collins's contract is for three years and $16 million and $2.16 million this season. That's a huge pay cut from the $7 million he was to make this season if he remained with the Giants, but at least now he has a chance to play. Of course, what's $5 million here and there, Collins should save on cost of living expenses alone! He just has to buy a fixer-upper in Oakland and not a house across the bay.
Collins Oficially Released
In Collins's career with the Giants, he started 68 of the 71 games he played in and threw for 1,447 completions, second in team history behind Phil Simms, and for 16,875 yards, third behind Simms and Charlie Conerly. Interestingly, Phil Simms was the last quarterback the Giants drafted in the first round, and while the Giants didn't technically draft Eli Manning, they certainly paid a high price for his rights.
Goodbye, Vodka Collins
Collins's career with the Giants was all but over the moment the Giants made a draft-day trade for Eli Manning. The Giants traded the rights to Philip Rivers and several draft picks, including a first round pick in 2005, for the rights to Manning. The Giants had hoped that Collins would restructure his contract and remain with the Giants as either a starter or back-up next year, but Collins was unwilling to renegotiate.
NFL Draft - Who to Pick?
There is much talk about who the Giants might take with their pick. While the fourth pick is great, they are in a position where players that would really fit a need will no longer be there, or can be drafted later in the round. Everybody is talking about Eli Manning and Robert Gallery. Eli Manning, the younger brother of Colts QB Peyton Manning and son of Archie Manning, starred at Ole Miss. His father wants him to join the Giants, and he could be a great replacement for Kerry Collins who is in the final year of his contract. Robert Gallery is a huge (6'7", 320 pounds) offensive tackle from Iowa. One of his negatives, according to NFL.com reads, "because of his height and girth, he does not always sink his pads properly." Despite his height and girth, franchise tackles like Gallery are hard to come by, which is why there is also tremendous interest in Gallery, who is apparently awe inspiring to those that see him. Should the Giants trade up to the first pick to take Manning or Gallery? Or do they take Ben Roethlisberger with the 4th pick?
