Bernard Kerik, the disgraced NYPD Commissioner under Rudy Giuliani, will not be seeing the outside of his minimum-security prison any time in the near future. Today a three-judge appeals panel considered the "fairness" of Kerik's four year sentence and found no reason to overturn it. Kerik’s lawyers had argued that Judge Stephen C. Bernard Kerik Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

[UPDATE BELOW] Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik has been sentenced to four years in federal prison. The sentence is significantly longer than what Kerik had hoped for when pleading guilty to lying on his application to be the director of Homeland Security, lying to the feds, tax fraud, and accepting $250,000 in renovations to his Bronx apartment, provided by a company accused of having mob ties. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors recommended that Kerik serve 27 to 33 months in prison. But judge Judge Stephen C. Former New York City Mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is finding that his campaign for highest office is foundering in Florida--the state that his campaign has identified as a crucial crucible. The primary vote in the Sunshine State will occur on Jan. 29, and with approximately six weeks to go, Rudy's trailing competitors Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. According to a survey conducted by pollster Scott Rasmussen, Romney is tallying 27% support, followed by Huckabee with 23%, and then Giuliani with 19%. Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik was indicted in federal court yesterday and the U.S. Attorney prosecuting him pulled no punches describing his legal prey.
