The Devil may wear prada and Superman may wear tight red briefs but what's really should get you hot and bothered on a long holiday weekend is Amy Sedaris in prosthetic teeth and high rise pants. Wooh-wee, that's some sexy stuff.

Gothamist once had big dreams of being a surfer and/or skateboarder (...seriously). Alas, we live too far away from a beach to wake up at 5am and check the local surf report (please note: taking the F train to surf was not a part of the dream)...so the closest we ever got was watching Kate Bosworth's breakout film Blue Crush.

Even though Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (see the trailer) looks silly, it has Kate Bosworth and Topher Grace, for that alone Gothamist will be first in line. A Connecticut native, Grace, as most know, is not only funny on That 70s Show but on talk shows, especially the Daily Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where he discussed debating whether or not to bring a date to a wedding (his friend told him, "Why bring sand to the beach?" We wonder if that was Kutcher or Valderrama or Masterson). Bosworth, on the other hand, won our heart after Blue Crush, maybe only second to Bring it On in terms of recent sports movie greatness. At any rate, Gothamist appreciates the idea that one could one a date with a movie star with an online contest, and that Piggly-Wigglies have computers in their employee lounges, as well as the exclamation point to make it clear that this is a giddy concept. Whee!!

The trailer for Val Kilmer's new film, Wonderland, is up at the Movie Box, and watching it reminded Gothamist of Boogie Nights and Auto Focus. Of course, Boogie Nights is not surprising, as BN was based loosely around the legend of John Holmes, while Wonderland is about porn star John Holmes and his involvement with the Wonderland Gang and their murders. At any rate, the gritty, seamy side of Los Angeles vibe looks intriguing (Val Kilmer as John Holmes, means Val ass), as does a crazy-haired Dylan McDermott. Kate Bosworth plays Holmes' 15 year-old girlfriend and Lisa Kudrow his wife, and Eric Bogosian looks really eerie as Eddie Nash, the drug dealer plots the robbery that set the murders in motion. Wonderland will open in limited release on September 26 (which can be a special date to some). [Via Movie City News]
