Ten days after being shot in the head while pursuing a suspect at the Bushwick Houses, police officer Kevin Brennan was released from Bellevue Hospital today. Wearing a #91 Justin Tuck Giants jersey, he told reporters, "It feels great," and that his first order of business at home in Long Island would be to hug his two-month-old daughter. And look at how cute he, his wife and daughter are!

Can The Giants Ground The Falcons?
It's funny how perspective changes as the football season progresses. At the start of the year, a .500 record seemed like a reasonable goal for the Giants. At the midway point, when they were 6-2, the playoffs seemed to be a lock. After losing to Washington three weeks ago, the playoffs seemed unlikely.
Once Again The Giants Are In The Path Of Perfection
Let's throw out the historical comparisons right off the bat: these are not the 2007 Giants. That team had won three-straight road playoff games before beating the perfect Patriots. These are not even the 1998 Giants, who upset the 13-0 Broncos, despite having only a 5-8 record at the time. That team was in the midst of a four-game winning streak to finish 8-8. This is a team with a myriad of injury problems that has lost the ability to play defense. If you want to put your finger on when the trouble started, consider the Eagles game two weeks ago when the Giants had every chance and every reason to bury Philadelphia, but didn't.
The Giants Look To Bury The Eagles
If the Giants win this weekend, they will effectively put an end to Philadelphia's playoff chances. In addition, they would give themselves some breathing room from a tough schedule that has them facing a road game in New Orleans followed by a home date against Green Bay. Finally, a win would help to exorcise the demons of last season's epic home meltdown against Philly—so there is a lot riding on tonight's contest.
Flipper Beware: Giants Return From The Bye
Brandon Marhsall of the Dolphins may have guaranteed a Miami win over the Giants, but it will take a lot more than that for Miami to pull off this upset. The fact is, the Dolphins are a pretty bad football team. They have been outscored by the second-highest margin in football and they have only managed to score 90 points in six games.
Can The Giants Get Back On Track?
After last week's debacle in Washington, the Giants desperately need a win before facing Philadelphia next week. Unfortunately, most of the injury problems that plagued them last week are still there and some new ones have sprung up. Justin Tuck is questionable as he is still trying to get over his sprained neck. To make matters worse, Hakeem Nicks has a bruised knee and has been barely able to practice all week. But, the Rams have injury problems of their own. Their star running back, Steven Jackson, is questionable with a thigh injury and their best receiver, Danny Amendola, is doubtful with an elbow injury.
Giants Put Their Best Foot Forward Heading To Tampa
The Giants are having a hard time getting healthy, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Justin Tuck, Kevin Dockery, Aaron Ross and Chris Canty are all expected to miss the game on Sunday. Kenny Phillips has been placed on Injured Reserve, which means his season is over, so the defense will be thin again, especially in the secondary.
Giants Try to Replicate Success of 2007
The Giants will face significant challenges in 2009, but they certainly have the talent to return to the Super Bowl. The biggest obstacle to that quest will be at wide receiver. Plaxico is gone and Amani Toomer didn’t make it out of training camp in Kansas City. That leaves Domenik Hixon and Steve Smith as the starting receivers, two players with only 109 catches between them in their careers. If that pair, or someone else like first round pick, Hakeem Nicks, can’t become a dependable number one receiver, the Giants are going to struggle offensively.
NY Pigskin Fans and Players Get Ready for the Return of Vick
Michael Vick might get thrown into the lion's den for his return to NFL action—speculation is that his first snaps back might come at Giants Stadium when the Eagles take on the Jets in the final preseason game of the season. Last night WCBS 2 asked Jet fans there to see Mark Sanchez's debut last night what their thoughts were on Vick's landing in Philly. Reaction was mixed with one fan saying, "I think what he did is completely heinous, but you can't crucify someone forever," while most took the predictable route of "Glad he's with the Eagles. I hate the Eagles!" As for Vick's new division rivals, the Giant defenders seemed to welcome the added competition of facing the speedy QB. Justin Tuck said "hats off to (the Eagles)" and Osi Umenyiora even said he was "proud of that franchise" for having the "cojones" to sign the tarnished superstar. Vick was on the field for the first time today practicing with the Eagles, who may utilize him in the "Wildcat" formation. Coincidentally Big Blue spent yesterday practicing their defense against the Wildcat.
Giants & Jets Send 13 to Pro Bowl; Start Bickering Now
Eli Manning will be in the same Pro Bowl as his brother Peyton. History is made! (But how does Matt Ryan feel about Eli's inclusion?) The Giants will send six to Hawaii, including both punter Jeff Feagles and placekicker John Carney. Combined age? 86. Their vaunted defense will have only one representative in Justin Tuck. That seems funny. The Giants' stellar offensive line did get some love. Guard Chris Snee will start, and center Shaun O'Hara will be a reserve.
Giants' Strahan Ends Suspense, Will Retire
Saving his team plenty of uncertainty and resulting annoyance, Michael Strahan reportedly announced his retirement Monday. That means the team and the media are saved another dance in which the player hems and haws as he tries to avoid training camp while still collecting a high salary. Now, the Giants will move on with their talented and deep defensive line, anchored by Osi Umenyiora, and will avoid a major distraction when the team reports in July.
We Are The Champions! Giants Win Their Third Super Bowl
History will place the 2007 Giants among the most unlikely champions ever. 0-2 to start the season, down 17-3 at halftime of their third game, bad losses to Minnesota and Washington, down 14-0 off the bat in Buffalo, a comeback in Dallas, an OT winner in Green Bay and a 17-14 victory over the perfect Patriots- it simply doesn’t get any better than this for Giants fans.
Giants Look For Super Sunday Surprise
After two weeks of hype, Super Bowl XLII is finally around the corner. The Giants have reached the ultimate game with a chance to prevent history by ruining the Patriots' quest for a perfect 19-0 season.
On To Arizona! One Final Road Trip for Giants
The Giants are going to the Super Bowl! Thanks to a 47-yard field goal in overtime New York defeated Green Bay on the infamous “frozen tundra” 23-20 to advance to Super Bowl XLII.
Wide Right!
You can’t blame Giants fans for fearing the worst. After watching their team blow numerous chances to put Philadelphia away, including an awful turnover late in the fourth quarter, the thought that David Akers would make a 57-yard field goal was not a stretch. But, while Akers’ kick had plenty of length, it was a little bit too far to the right, clanging off the upright and the Giants escaped from Philadelphia with a 16-13...
