Elementary School Assembly Turns Into Smut Screening

As if raising your kid in Williamsburg wasn't close enough to leaving them on the set of , historic for being one of the first times the tween pop group has appeared on the festival circuit. But when the movie played on the jumbo screen, it seemed like an even more momentous moment—the Jonas Brothers turning in their promise rings! Children were shown 45 seconds of "a topless woman and sex acts" until a teacher ripped the plug out of the wall. One parent told the Post, "My daughter is 6 years old; she doesn't need to see that. I don't even like to kiss in front of her because I think she's too young. So I'm very angry." The school is investigating just who was behind the video switch.

Jonas Brothers Give Girls Another Reason to Scream

Spotted: The Jonas Brothers were at a mall yesterday seeing a movie. But it wasn't just any movie—it was their movie, The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience, which opened Friday and will give you plenty to roll your eyes about when it comes in as the weekend box office's Number One movie in a few hours. And it wasn't just any mall—rather, it was a surprise appearance at their mall, as in the mall that they grew up going to, the Palisades Center, just across the Tappan Zee Bridge in Nyack. The JoBros said that they often went to movies at the Palisades "so the fact that we're coming back here is really, really, really cool." We're not exactly sure why they'd travel from their hometown in Wyckoff, New Jersey to a mall that's three times the distance to the nearby Garden State Plaza (where TJB:T3DE is playing once an hour.) But who are we to question the trustworthiness promise rung teenage pop stars?

NYPD Face Jonas Brothers Fears on New Year's Eve

Does the NYPD need to set up a special unit to battle...Jonas Brothers fans? People is reporting that the trio has "struck fear into the hearts of New York City's finest" in anticipation of their upcoming appearance in Times Square on New Year's Eve. While the men in blue have "heroically handled terrorist attacks, blackouts and riots without a whimper"--a tween mob scene is nothing scoff at, folks. While they plan to beef up security, the mag also notes that Mother Nature may help them out with some freezing temperatures and a wintry mix--but those fans are hardcore, and we're betting a little frostbite won't stand between them and their Jonas's.

While the rest of the world is talking about Britney's manufactured comeback, another act that showed so much potential earlier in the decade is back trying to put a dent on the current music landscape. Stellastarr*, the post-Strokes, pre-Killers blogger sensation released two underappreciated albums before fading into the background for the last few years. This week, they’ve made a big stand at Pianos, playing 5 straight nights at one of the clubs where they got their start. The showcase at the smaller venue, including similar sized stops in DC, Boston and Philly, acts as a reboot of sorts for the New Yorkers, who have recently been working on a third album. They've got two more nights left at Pianos, although both shows are currently sold out.

2008_11_jonas.jpgYesterday the Jonas Brothers were at Barnes & Noble on 5th and 46th in Midtown signing copies of their new book, "Burning Up: On Tour With The Jonas Brothers," and the crowd was just as insane as you might expect for the Wyckoff, NJ teenage pop sensations. The Daily News was on hand and got some choice quotes from some of the 500 fans who traveled from around the country for yesterdays event. "They were all so nice. The best bit was telling them I loved them and them saying it back. I'm never going to forget today," one girl told the paper. Another reported, "Nick was much hotter in person. When I saw him, I cried so hard. I would do it again. I want to drive from state to state to see them again." But the prize for dedication goes to 16-year-old Britney Rosen from Long Island, who skipped Thanksgiving dinner and waited just under 60 hours to be first in line to greet the promise ringed-brothers.

After playing a show in the Hamptons this weekend that cost concertgoers $1500 a pop, the Jonas Brothers played a surprise free show at the SoHo Apple Store last night. Almost 1,000 people showed up (about half were turned away) in order to see the purity ringed-hands of the brothers Jonas rock out songs from their new EP A Little Bit Longer. The brothers have been busy: they are co-hosting TRL in honor of Jonas Brothers Fan Week and yesterday morning, they visited Regis & Kelly's studio, where an out-for-a-jog Steve Guttenberg checked in with Jonas Brothers fans outside the studio. We didn't think that there was a way for Steve Guttenberg to rule any more than he already did.
