For over two years, the city has wanted to build a sanitation garage in SoHo on Spring Street. And at every step of the way, those plans have been blocked by a ragtag cadre of downtown celebrities, a renegade group of disparate actors, musicians and personalities who were willing to fight to the last breath to prevent the common man's garbage from clogging their block. They were the Ocean's Eleven of...trash. But a court has now rejected the appeals to the project, and given the go ahead for the garage to be built.

MSG Bull Riding Has At Least One Celebrity Fan
While animal rights groups protested this weekend's Madison Square Garden Professional Bull Riders Invitational, fans packed the arena to watch three days of rodeo in the heart of Manhattan. And that includes actor John Slattery, who looks like he's on the edge of his seat in anticipation of the competition. Rider Valdiron de Oliveira was crowned the winner for the second time in four years, winning four out of five rounds and taking home $41,860. But the best part of the competition was listening to the names of the bulls.
Roger Sterling Mad About SoHo Garbage Facility
Earlier this year Lou Reed ranted and raved over the proposed $346 million Sanitation Department facility on Spring Street. Now it's Mad Men's John Slattery (aka Roger Sterling) who is, well, mad over the city's plan, which the Daily News notes "would consolidate three sanitation districts, open up park space elsewhere, get trucks off the street into a garage and provide direct access to the West Side Highway."
Don Draper Still Sells Laughs on SNL Minus Big Names
Last night's Saturday Night Live had its work cut out for it after the last few weeks. Weaving in actual Mad Men stars Elisabeth Moss and John Slattery alongside host Jon Hamm was a nice touch, but this is a week after the show featured cameos from Sarah Palin, Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin. And it was a welcome return for Maya Rudolph, stopping in as expected to play Michelle Obama and sing a duet with Kenan Thompson dedicated to Amy Poehler's new baby. But that came on the heels of former cast members Bill Murray, Will Ferrell and of course Tina Fey all making high profile returns in recent weeks.
