Tonight we will get a good measure of exactly what the Giants are. Heading to Atlanta and facing a bad team on the road is a dangerous spot, the potential is there to underestimate your opponent and ruin your chances at an easy win.
Giants Look To Get To 4-2 Against Tallonless Falcons
Late Rally Moves Jets One Step Closer to Playoffs
Mike Nugent's field goal with 10 seconds remaining helped the Jets squeak by Miami, 13-10, during a rainy Christmas night in South Florida. The messy game looked like many others this season; it was defensive and sluggish. Who cares about style? With a win against Oakland on Sunday, the Jets will make the playoffs. Not too shabby for a team most thought would be dreadful.
Hitting the Brakes in the Parking Lot
When Laveranues Coles caught his second touchdown of the game to give the Jets a 17-point lead with 13:15 remaining in the fourth quarter, some of the fans at the Meadowlands headed for the exit, hoping to get home to catch more of the Mets-Cardinals playoff game. A Dolphins rally prevented those who stayed from leaving until the final seconds, lest they miss a Jets collapse. But the Jets hung on by the skin of their teeth and won, 20-17, when Olindo Mare missed a 51-yard field goal in the game's final minute.
Jets try to put rout behind them
If a 41-0 loss to Jacksonville from last week doesn't motivate the Jets, what will? If they can't rebound against the woeful Dolphins (1-4), which opponent could cure their woes? These are questions the Jets don't want to have to answered after they face the Dolphis at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday. A win would even the Jets' record at 3-3.
