Jeff Feagles retired this week after a NFL career that spanned four decades. At 44, Feagles decided that he just couldn’t physically handle the demands of the NFL. Start with the defense, Bill Sheridan has to go. His defense has allowed 383 points, fifth worst in the entire NFL. But sacrificing Sheridan is not enough; a lot of the defensive players need to follow him out the door. Rocky Bernard and Chris Canty were brought in to bolster the defensive line and did nothing so cut them. Moving to linebacker, Antonio Pierce may be a great leader, but he also really slowed down this year, add him along with Chase Blackburn and Gerris Wilkinson to the discard pile. As bad as the secondary has been, just getting some guys back healthy would be a big improvement. But, C.C. Brown, Kevin Dockery and Aaron Rouse all need to go. more ›

Eli Manning will be in the same Pro Bowl as his brother Peyton. History is made! (But how does Matt Ryan feel about Eli's inclusion?) The Giants will send six to Hawaii, including both punter Jeff Feagles and placekicker John Carney. Combined age? 86. Their vaunted defense will have only one representative in Justin Tuck. Before getting back to his grueling practice schedule* today, Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes stopped in to the Late Show last night. David Letterman and Tynes chat about his family and when he learned to kick (as a senior in high school). Tynes, the 29-year-old father of twins, who missed two 4th quarter field goals in the NFC Championship before kicking the game winner in overtime, was not able to escape ribbing from Letterman, "Everybody I know had the same reaction after the second missed kick in the 4th quarter, 'Please don't send him in again! For the love of God! If there's an ounce of mercy in your soul! Don't send him in!!'" more ›
