Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I’m like that certainly. I don’t really play vinyl, though I do collect all these records. But one of the reasons I like to put out these albums is because some of these things have never been available on CD, and once they are then disc jockeys can play them forever. They can’t fade away like the old 45 does that I’ve had in my drawer for 20 years, or 50 years. So basically that’s the main thing, trying to get these songs to a new audience. None of these songs would be played together at one time on the same CD. I’m sort of like curating an art show or something. Trying to show you different styles of music that are all extreme, but all unironic in real life and kind of beautiful. I don’t think any of them are so bad they’re good.

After last year's mess of an awards show and this year's joke of nominations (where is love for Lauren Graham, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences?), we were going to swear off this year's Emmys. But then we realized Conan O'Brien was hosting, so we must watch and liveblog. And there's the hope of a good Steve Carrell bit, not to mention awkward reaction shots of Candy and Tori Spelling during the Aaron Spelling tribute.

2003_10_incredibles.jpgThe next Pixar animated film, The Incredibles, has been eagerly anticipated since the teaser was shown before Finding Nemo this summer. You can see the teaser, but there's also a new John Ratzenberger introduced "Making of" preview of sorts online. (What's with John Ratzenberger, he's like a studio player for Pixar these days? Will the Pig be in The Incredibles?) Cool things Gothamist didn't realize: Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jason Lee provide voices, in addition to Craig T. "Coach" Nelson as the head Incredible.
