It might not flow off the tongue as smoothly as some of their rhymes, but Run-DMC JMJ Way is finally here. The sign is at the intersection of 205th Street and Hollis Avenue in Queens, and you can see some video of the unveiling, which took place yesterday, here. The Daily News reports back from the ceremony, where DJ Run told the gathered crowd, "I lived right down that block," and DMC thanked the neighborhood locals on hand, who he says made them who they were. The late Jam Master Jay's mother was in attendance as well, wearing a shirt with her son's picture on it; she told the crowd, "This is a proud day for my whole family." Reportedly the documentary titled Two Turntables And A Microphone, which "will dissect Jay's death and celebrate his life," will be released later this year (see a preview after the jump).

Next week, Halloween eve to be exact, will mark the five year anniversary of Jam Master Jay's death. The murderer still walks the streets, as witnesses don't want to step forward in naming the man who ended the life of the rap legend.

After previews of the segment last week, The Rap Up shares video of Anderson Cooper's chat with Cam'ron on 60 Minutes to discuss the "no snitching" rule prevalent in the rap community. Tupac, Notorious B.I.G. and Jam Master Jay are all examples of murders that have gone unsolved. More recently, Busta Rhymes bodyguard, Israel Ramirez, was shot and killed at a video shoot; out of the 25 people believed to be present during the crime - no one has come forward.

Ronald "Tinard" Washington has been named as a suspect in the killing of Jason Mizell (aka Jam Master Jay). Though an arrest in the case isn't expected anytime soon, this is the first publicly announced suspect to be made in this case - something Jay's family members are happy about.

Well, sadly, this wasn't much of a surprise: The attempted shooting of 50 Cent at Hot 97 was apparently masterminded by Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff and Murder Inc. because of various rivalries. Sigh. The IRS had been investigating McGriff, variously described as a "reputed gangster" and "alleged druglord", and Murder Inc. for their finances and now feel that that they are "involved in an ongoing plot to kill 50 Cent." And the IRS was involved because they were actually investigating Murder Inc. heads Irving and Chris Lorenzo, who are on trial for allegedly laundering McGriff's drug mone. Or something like that. And it also seems that McGriff might have had beloved Jam Master Jay killed in 2002 because of his ties to 50 Cent! This was almost easier to understand when the police thought that last March's shooting was really about the beef between 50 and The Game.
