A judge sentenced Foxy Brown to a year in jail yesterday for violating the terms of her three-year probation. Officials asked that her probation be revoked following an incident in August when Brown (neé Inga Marchand) allegedly assaulted a neighbor with her BlackBerry wireless device. Brown was contrite and promised to adhere to whatever probation conditions the judge would set forth, but apparently the BlackBerry incident was the last of a long string of probation violations that proved too much for Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson. Probation officials said that Brown's violations included moving out of NY State without telling them, allegedly assaulting a beauty shop employee in a dispute over payment while in Florida (without asking permission to leave NY state), failing to report an arrest in NJ, not attending court-mandated anger mandated sessions, and not reporting to her probation officer. Brown was on probation for three years after pleading guilty to an assault on two manicure shop employees in NYC in 2004.

Just when you thought the story about Foxy Brown being robbed by her pimp ex-boyfriend's friends couldn't get more crazy, now it does. The Brooklyn native claims she was never robbed and that she wasn't even in Brooklyn at the time of the alleged attack. She said, "A lot of the time, people mistake me for someone else, or people always call in these false tips."
The old adage says, "any publicity is good publicity," but is that really the case with Foxy Brown? Just this Thursday, Brown was given another chance in criminal court for violating the terms of her parole. It seems like Foxy, who's real name is Inga Marchand, decided to celebrate Friday night with a free meal at Junior's in Brooklyn. Junior's management told The Post that Foxy and her crew walked out on a $53 bill before someone came back and tried to pay. The restaurant refused payment by saying, ""Look, don't pay for it, just don't come back."
That Foxy Brown. We thought that her guilty plea and acceptance of three years on probation plus anger management was the end of her smackdown with the staff at Bloomie Nails in Chelsea ages ago. But, no, Foxy, nee Inga Marchand, had an incident with the anger management clinic staff at the Shore Parkway facility in Bensonhurst. Naturally, this wound up in court again.
Foxy Brown was sentenced to three years probation for attacking employees of Bloomie Nails back in 2005. You may recall that in August Brown pleaded guilty to the assault, but then tried to take it back. Brown continued to plead her innocence, claiming her original lawyer had "rushed" and "coerced" her. The NY Times had a funny exchange between Brown (real name: Inga Marchand) and the judge:
Ms. Marchand, 27, said she pleaded guilty only because her lawyer at the time, Robert Kalina, told her that if she did not, she might have to spend a night in jail. (In the small-world category, Mr. Kalina was Mr. Smith’s [Busta Rhymes's] lawyer yesterday.)Continue reading "End of Foxy Brown's Manicurist Smackdown Saga"
The seasons may change, but we seem to be assured of stories where rapper Foxy Brown goes totally crazy and does something that requires the police or the phrase "pressing charges." This time, Brown (born Inga Marchand) is accused of stealing $800 worth of belts - just two belts! Tony Khayat, owner of L'Impasse on West 8th Street, told the NY Post that he gave free clothes to Brown earlier this week, but she stormed into his store after hours, wearing paper pedicure slippers, demanding the clothes she had brought in for tailoring. Then she tried to bargain for a gold watch, and when she didn't get the price she liked, she took the two expensive belts. Khayat, who showed the Post the surveillance footage of Brown acting up, said, "I was going to just call her and tell her to get those f-ing belts back - but I guess I'm pressing charges." We guess he just doesn't want to be friends anymore!
There was that Seinfeld episode, The Understudy, where Elaine tries to understand what the Korean manicurists are saying about her.
