Hot Chip, Almost Ready for the Floor We've come around on Hot Chip in a big way over the last few years as they've risen to stateside popularity. Their latest album is a total burner, highlighted by a killer lead single, Ready for the Floor, and the last few times we've seen them live it's been a blast. So needless to say, our expectations for last Saturday night's show at Highline were through the roof.......

With all that went down this week, we thought we thought we'd cheer everyone up by giving everyone a double dose of dogs. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions this week at DCist. Like the rest of country, we were floored by the news of so many dead coming out of Virginia Tech, and with so many of the victims and their relatives from the D.C. area, we felt it important to pay......

Brooklyn Vegan is listing some of the summer concert lineups, so we thought we'd add to that list with some more information on the Seaport Music Festival. Hands down our favorite one in the city. Last year we spent many afterwork hours sitting on the pier, sipping wine, watching bands play...not to mention the amazing nautical backdrop. We caught Clap Your Hands Say Yeah there, and a couple of days later this video surfaced......

Day 1 was long, but we managed to get a few hours of sleep and gear up for the rest of week. Last Thursday we started off our day at the South By Stereogum party. Brisket on white bread was served, Fat Tire beers were distributed and Aziz Ansari was hosting the show, which had a solid lineup: Aloha, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Rogue Wave and Ted Leo. Thunderbirds Are Now! [pictured]......

Last chance for Brokeback jokes and the Pita's Music Picks: Unlike Ennis, we know how to quit you. Next time it'll be someone else's picks. See you in the clubs![Ed. Note - This is Catherine's last week on the music roundup-- thanks, Catherine!] We have never set foot inside Avalon, and we suspect tonight may be many Mogwai fans' first foray into the club, too. This is the first show that's come up on our......

Gothamist will be heading out very, very early Friday morning to report on the rock for you, so stay tuned for coverage and special features here as well as at Austinist. We plan to rest up this week but not until after the SXSW Pep Rally! We figure a pep rally is like the equivalent of drinking Sparks (minus the......
