A man was stabbed and beaten over the head with a beer bottle at a Chelsea nightclub around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. According to DNAinfo, the incident occurred at The Shadow on West 28th Street, and the victim was transported to Bellevue with injuries that were not life-threatening. Yesterday, 106 & Park host and HOT 97 personality DJ Megatron (born Corey McGriff) was fatally shot on Staten Island, and so far no arrests have been made. Neighbors told cops they saw four young men running from the area after the shooting, but police have yet to find a witness. However, they have nearly ruled out that the shooting was a robbery gone wrong, and think Megatron may have been shot over an unpaid debt. more ›

It's so hard for black people to get a cab in this town that when they finally flag one, cops think they're robbing it. At least, that's one conclusion you could draw from Hot 97 / Kiss FM manager Terrence Battle, who was riding home to Bed-Stuy in a livery cab around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning when the NYPD pulled the car over. He says cops humiliated him outside his home for no other reason than because he's black, and claims they justified the search by pointing to a sticker on the car allowing police to stop the vehicle at any time to check on the driver's safety.
