260-Year Sentence For Man Who Raped Three Women In Brooklyn Home Invasion

Yesterday, a judge sentenced three men involved in a horrific rape and robbery to over 150 years in prison. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Albert Tomei was so troubled by the crimes, which included the rape of three women—a woman, her 17-year-old daughter and a teenage family friend—that he said to the man who was convicted of the rapes, Glendon Jackson, "Somebody wrote a book, Dante Alighieri, where he ranked the crimes and this has to be one of the worst crimes and you have to be one of the worst offenders," and sentenced him to 260 years. more ›

As the French complain that leading politician and IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn is being subject to barbaric American treatment because he has been photographed while in handcuffs, Mayor Bloomberg stood up for the tradition of perp walks. While in Albany to lobby for gay marriage, Bloomberg said, "I think it is humiliating, but you know if you don’t want to do the perp walk, don’t do the crime." Oh, snap! more ›

Horrific Bronx Bus Crash Claims 14th Life, Investigation Continues
      

The authorities are investigating the awful Saturday morning bus crash on 1-95/New England Thruway in the Bronx that killed 14 people and injured many more. The bus, which was carrying gamblers (many of them sleeping) from Mohegan Sun to Chinatown, flipped then struck a metal pole which sheared open the bus. One passenger told the Post, "I saw people split open. It was awful. Someone was crying for help... One man lost his hands. He was alive when the emergency people took him from the bus. People were crying. People were screaming... I saw a lot of death." more ›

A waiter who turned his service industry lemons into publishing lemonade with his blog Waiter Rant has unmasked himself for the Post today, just in time for the release of his tell-all book. After years of anonymous venting about his miserable experiences serving swells at an unspecified restaurant in “the city's affluent suburbs,” Steve Dublanica has outed himself as the man who “prefers more elegant methods of revenge" than spitting in diners’ food – though he assures the Post this does happen often enough. more ›
