Drug dealers are reportedly giving up on lower class neighborhoods in favor of more up-and-coming hoods. Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan today tells the News that the city has "seen a pattern developing of heroin mills located in upscale and middle-class neighborhoods." And to prove that, one need look no further then Red Hook, which had something of a blast from the past last week when police raided a heroin mill on Van Brunt Street there and found a stash of heroin worth between $30,000-$50,000 (including 60 grams of pure uncut h).

DEA Busts NJ Heroin Mill With Park Slope Clientele
The DEA announced today that they had arrested ten people in connection with a Fort Lee, NJ heroin mill which allegedly was distributing throughout the tri-state area, including, in particular, Park Slope. They seized five and a half pounds of heroin from the mill (worth $1.5 million), $50,000 in cash, as well as 100,000 glassine envelopes which had brand names such as "Spring Break," "Roger Dat," "True Love," and "LeBron James."

In Bronx Heroin Lab Bust, Suspect Falls to Death
A man died while trying to flee the dozens of federal agents who raided a heroin mill in a Castle Hill apartment. The man jumped from a 9th floor balcony to a 6th floor balcony, but "slammed his head against a sixth-floor railing." Two other women who tried to make the same jump were hospitalized.
