Valentine's is for lovers, so thinks the city, which is handing out free NYC Condoms today at 10AM. We're not sure if the weather has changed the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's plans, but Health Commissioner Thomas Friedan, as well as Kenneth Cole (designer and chair of amFar) and Dr. Marjorie Hill of the Gay Men's Health Crisis are supposed to be unveil the condom packaged with subway iconography at the Kenneth Cole Store at 50th and 5th Avenue, and volunteers will be giving them out.

Love Shacks

Yesterday was the 21st Annual AIDS Walk New York, and organizers say that over 50,000 people participated in the walk, which had some unfortunate moments of rain. What's more, the approximately 6.2 mile walk, which benefits the Gay Men's Health Crisis, raised $6,473,108 - half a million more than last year, according to the Post.

. Well, that's much more boring, but still, some of those questions still apply. The Department of Health wants to raise awareness of how important condom usage is for the public, but of course the NY State Conservative party freaked out. A Condomania employee told the NY Times, "If this is actually going to happen, I think New Yorkers are absolutely going to love it. Of course, we live in a little liberal haven. But one group I think will really go for it are the tourists." 'Cause those tourists would love to show their friends how crazy us New Yorkers are!
