"Do a Holocaust Movie, the Awards Come”

The highlights of last night's Golden Globes ceremony were not Kate Winslet's double win or the triumph of HBO's John Adams miniseries or that Jeremy Piven didn't win again for Entourage. The multiple wins for Slumdog Millionaire—and shout-outs to Mumbai—were sweet, as was Steven Spielberg's plea for not only making movies for the mainstream (also, Martin Scorsese gets so emotional!), but let's face it, the British comedians took the cake for the best moments. more ›

Spotted in Williamsburg: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law

It doesn't take much detective work to find out that the cast and crew of Sherlock Holmes have landed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Jude Law, and they're all readying for their close-ups at the Marcy Avenue Armory at 355 Marcy Avenue, according to Filming in Brooklyn who notes the location is the same "where the interiors of Neville’s house were shot for I Am Legend." The NY Post even has some photographic evidence of the two male leads, and report back that "the Hollywood heavyweights were dressed in 19th-century period wear yesterday...Law sporting a distinguished mustache." The movie, which is actually set in London, is being directed by Guy Ritchie, but at least he's got the Williamsburg Bridge to separate him from his ex and A-Rod. more ›

Report: Madonna, Guy Ritchie Settle Divorce

The British newspaper the Evening Standard reports that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reached an agreement in their divorce proceedings. The couple will share custody of sons Rocco and David (they had apparently been arguing over whether the kids would be raised in New York or London). And Ritchie is not getting any of Madonna's estimated $450 million fortune, which he could have attempted since they did not have a pre-nup. A source said, "It will be all over by the end of the month. I am sure it will be announced by then. The priority for him has always been the children. Ritchie has not wanted her money." Madonna was out on the town last night, at the Gucci UNICEF dinner; she looked happy (picture), perhaps because rumored boyfriend A-Rod snubbed Kate Hudson in Miami. more ›

Rumor: Guy Ritchie Cries at Sight of Son in Yankees Shirt

Rumor: Guy Ritchie Cries at Sight of Son in Yankees Shirt

What is a nasty celebrity divorce without weeping? In the realm of the Madonna-Guy Ritchie divorce, Us Magazine says that Ritchie was "crying over" seeing photos of 8-year-old son Rocco in a Yankees t-shirt. Because a Yankees t-shirt signifies slugger Alex Rodriguez, one of Madonna's many rumored current paramours. Of course, it doesn't help that there are more rumors about A-Rod buying real estate closer to Madonna's Central Park West triplex, reportedly scoping out an $80 million four-bedroom apartment at 15 Central Park West. Anyway, Us Magazine has other crazy details about the divorce, like how Madonna would say, "I should have married someone like me: strong, hot-blooded, intelligent, ambitious, spiritual," and "Guy called her old, fat, ugly and wrinkled and said that she was stupid and couldn't sing." more ›

Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. God knows I do." A source also says that there were tensions over the Material Girl's Kabbalah faith, "Guy's initial support and interest in kabbalah turned to annoyance and hatred. Guy doesn't believe kabbalah is on par with Christianity." British tabloid The Sun suggests their marriage started to crumble a few years ago when Madonna fell off a horse and Ritchie responded by saying, "Come on darling, you’re a tough bird. Tabloid Says Madonna, Guy Ritchie Will Divorce

After months--if not years--of rumors, British tabloid The Sun claims Madonna and Guy Ritchie are getting divorced. Apparently the couple will release a statement about the split because they "can’t bear to live with the pretence any longer." The source says, "Madonna wanted a highly stage-managed separation, with their split being announced when it when it was convenient for her" -- she's currently on tour-- but apparently the fighting has been too bad for that! The Sun suggests that Madonna has "rekindled a close relationship" with Carlos Leon, who fathered daughter Lourdes, but our question is whether the Material Girl's next stop is A-Rod. more ›

Madonna Needs a V8 or Something

There are some photographs a really skinny-looking Madonna leaving the Kabbalah Centre in Midtown.
