In August, rumors started swirling that a Formula One race could be coming the way of New York City (well, Weehawken and West New York) but we didn't put too much stock in it. We've been burned by F1 before. But lo! A source has confirmed to the AP that the race is coming to town in June 2013. A press conference is scheduled to announce the news in Weehawken tomorrow. Last Night's Action: Mets Split Two With Nothing for Barroids

- Giants 6, Mets 4: The Giants and Mets waited out a rain delay before the first game of their single ticket doubleheader before San Francisco picked up the victory. Former Met Armando "Who Let the Dogs Out" Benitez picked up the save in a way that every Met fan can remember - walking two batters before getting the save. Of course, that's assuming he even got the save when he was with the Mets. Barry Bonds was 2-3 with 2 walks, 1 RBI and a run scored. more ›

Grand Prix of Snowboarding Today

Way out in Vernon, NJ today, the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix Series is taking place at Mountain Creek (fondly remembered by Gothamist as Vernon Valley/Great Gorge). If that's not enough fun, Jersey's own Fountains of Wayne will be performing at 7:20. Following their performance, the 2006 U.S. Olympic team will be announced (full schedule here). It almost sounds like a perfect day. Head out to Mountain Creek, ski or ride some, watch a competition, listen to music, and find out who will represent the USA in Italy. more ›

Oldboy opens in theaters on March 25, but you don't have to wait until then: Gothamist is having a contest to give away tickets to an Oldboy screening on Friday (3/18) night! more ›
