Jodi Applegate and Ron Corning, co-hosts of Fox's Good Day New York, both claim to be serious foodies, and it was a toss-up as to which one would have the chance to share their favorite recipe with Gothamist. But New York Magazine went through Ron Corning's daily diet last month, and Jodi Applegate wanted to unveil her favorite recipe for Tuna Surprise here today.

Now that Rupert Murdoch owns The Wall Street Journal, he wants all his toys in one toychest properties in one building, namely News Corporation's Sixth Avenue building. The Wall Street Journal newsroom has always been downtown and is currently located at the World Financial Center.

As we were away from televisions most of Wednesday, we can’t give a blow by blow account of the storm coverage. However, we can give you a brief summary of some of the major things.

It seems when tragedy writ large strikes, local news crews are dispatched to the scene no matter where it is. This week’s bridge collapse in Minnesota was no different with, as of last night, WCBS, WNYW, and WABC shipping reporters off to cover the death and destruction live. It seems more like vultures flocking to the carcass instead of legitimate coverage.

There is nothing like a little snow to make the local television stations go nuts. The madness really started yesterday evening with reporters sent out to find snow, special winter weather graphics and crawls with school closings along with other notes about the snowstorm on the bottom of the screen.

Despite the warm winter weather, coat drives have not lost momentum this season in comparison to coat sales.

Two weeks ago, we posted about a video showing how to steal a bike. Good Day New York wanted to get in on the action, so they had some people demonstrate it on the show this morning - only for it to go totally haywire in a brilliant, planned fake blood way and spook reporter Jodi Applegate away from stories on the Internet for good. Gawker has a description of the segment, which has made it's way to YouTube.

CBS New York morning anchor Jim Ryan is doing the show from various locations for a Breakfast With Jim Ryan segment each day. Now, if you've been watching the local news for a while, you'll know Jim from hosting Good Day New York on Channel 5. We always thought that Jim was at his best when he was needling weather man Dave Price, who moved over to CBS a while ago, so we were thrilled that they could be reunited. Today he was at Mike's Deli (you can see the segment here) on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, and tomorrow he'll be at Natives in Queens. CBS 2 is taking suggestions on fun places for him to hang out (email CBS2Crew@cbs.com), and ours would be the Fairway Cafe (interaction with insane Upper West Side shoppers) or a Chinatown dim sum emporium like Triple 8 Palace (eat pigs knuckles at 5:30AM!). Do you have picks for breakfast fun?

Gothamist was very excited to see that Matt Lauer was in Shanghai, for his November sweeps month get-me-away-from-Katie working vacation/ biological clock experiment, Where in the World is Matt Lauer? To make scary, Communist China accessible to the West, Matt explained that Shanghai is growing so fast, and referred to a graphic showing that there are twice as many skyscrapers in Shanghai than New York, 4000 to NYC's 2000, even though Shanghai is a relatively young city (around the same "age" as Los Angeles). Yay, morning world urban history! Then we turned to Fox 5 to see where Mike Woods might be, given his Where in the World is... Mike Woods? spoof on Good Day New York. But, alas, Mike was not in Chinatown or Flushing, but in Chelsea, making chocolate with Francois Payard. And, augh! The Today show has set Maria Meneunos on the people of Shanghai, doing a lifestyle piece - we're sorry, Shanghai.

Between a Rocco and a Hard Place
So the Post gave Rocco's zero stars...Gothamist went before we knew this. At least we met Mama!
