Jeremy Lin has only been a linternational superstar for barely two weeks, but he's already feeling the pressure of the basketball world on his shoulder—Lin told reporters today that his rise to stardom has been "a little mentally and emotionally taxing," but he knows "that comes with the territory. It's my job to focus on resting and making sure it doesn't affect my performance on the court." And just because he has to shoulder the burden of having the most punable name in the world doesn't mean he isn't interested in normal everyday things, like finding himself a girlfriend: "First she would really love God and be a faithful Christian, and then after that, I think, a desire to serve other people, to help with the underprivileged...someone that’s definitely chill, low key, low maintenance."

Man's Girlfriend Dies After Crashing Wife's Car In Brooklyn DWI
A 32-year-old woman is dead after a car driven by her boyfriend drove into a street median and hit a light pole and another car on Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park last night. And not only was the boyfriend charged with DWI, apparently the car belonged to the boyfriend's wife. The Daily News reports, "[Nyron] Isaac, an unemployed maintenance worker, was supposed to be home watching his 10-year-old son, according to his wife, Tennile Isaac, 29, who has been seeking a divorce. She had warned him not to drive the Cadillac, which she was transferring ownership of to him, because it was uninsured, she said."
Escaped Prisoner's Girlfriend Would Have Done The Same
Escaped prisoner José Rodriguez's girlfriend, Janell, sat in support of him during a hearing in Bronx court yesterday, and told the Daily News that Rodriguez was only doing what any sane person in custody for a non-fatal shooting would have done. "I don't blame him for trying to escape; I would have done the same thing," she said. What a great way to pick up the ladies! Just tell them you're on the lam for a shooting you (possibly) didn't do. Lindsay Lohan Shacks Up With Cougar
The 23-year-old trainwreck better known as Lindsay Lohan has found herself a new bedmate. Allegedly she's been spotted with NY-based (and possibly bankrupt) photographer and future Bravo reality show star Indrani (also known as Julia I. Pal-Chaudhuri), who is 13 years her senior!
Word is the two have been secretly seeing each other since a photoshoot last fall, and Indrani doesn't seem to be denying it (her reality show does premiere next month, after all); she told The Post, "I have never had a relationship with a woman before, but Lindsay is just somebody who I find fascinating, gorgeous and extremely smart, as well as super-hot."

Will Bloomberg's Girlfriend Run For Senate?
Add another name to the list of unexpected candidates considering running against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. Mayor Bloomberg's longtime girlfriend Diana Taylor has reportedly been meeting with Republicans to discuss a possible campaign. The race has already seen a short-lived Democratic campaign by former Congressman and pundit Harold Ford Jr. and an already-canceled Republican run by Daily News publisher Mort Zuckerman—not to mention a still pending Republican campaign by former Bush adviser Dan Senor, husband of CNN anchor Campbell Brown. So what's the deal with the city's unofficial First Lady?
Jilted Fiancee had "A Knife in Each Hand"
A Staten Island woman grew tired of her betrothed's cheating ways, so she showed up at his mistress's apartment—with knives! "Jamel! Jamel! I know you are in there!" she yelled, according to police. Inside the fiancé’s girlfriend "heard a loud noise and then observed her door fly open." Twenty-five-year-old Jamie Hill stood at the threshold, a knife in each hand. The two women struggled and Hill dropped her knives, but she took up fighting again when police arrived, punching a female officer in the head. According to the Staten Island Advance, she's charged with felonies and misdemeanors including burglary, assault, possession of a weapon and menacing.
Girl Shot on the Upper East Side
A 25-year-old was shot last night while walking on East 91st Street, near Third Avenue. The gunman, who jumped out of his car at 11:30 pm and fired two bullets, one into her neck, was the young woman's boyfriend. "I heard the gunshots and it startled me," a bystander told the New York Post. "I was afraid to come outside. After 10 minutes, I heard the sirens and came outside." According to a doorman who witnessed the shooting, the jilted lover jumped back into his car and sped off. But he was cuffed by police shortly after and taken in for questioning. Meanwhile, his girlfriend rode to New York Hospital, where cops say her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Teen Blames Girlfriend For Stolen Car, Gets Arrested Anyway
Forced to choose between listening to his girlfriend or following the law, a Staten Island 17-year-old decided on the latter — and now he faces up to seven years in prison because of it. An Oakwood teen, identified in the Staten Island Advance as Sean Potop, told police that he and his girlfriend were at a Mariners Harbor movie theater on Dec. 7 when they saw a woman accidentally drop her car keys on ground. Potop claims his girlfriend grabbed the keys, waited for the woman to walk away, and stole the 2005 Mitsubishi Galant.
Boyfriend Catches Girlfriend's Rapist in Vestibule
Memo to lazy dudes: If you buzz your girlfriend into the building and she's not at your door in a timely manner, you need to put Guitar Hero on pause and get your ass downstairs. On Saturday night the girlfriend of a Greenwich Village man was taking longer than usual to get upstairs to his apartment, and when he finally went down to see what happened he found that she was being raped in the building's vestibule. This happened around 7 p.m. on lower Fifth Avenue, according to the Post. So be alert! At least in this case the boyfriend was able to subdue the attacker and call the cops; the alleged rapist, 28-year-old Dean Rogich, told detectives, "I followed her into the building so I could rob her."
Veteran of Kuwait and Iraq Gunned Down in Brooklyn
After serving tours in the Middle East, it was a Brooklyn backyard barbecue that proved deadly for Sergeant Kidson George. The 26-year-old man was gunned down on the porch of a Crown Heights home where he was celebrating the 4th of July with his girlfriend and others. George was shot twice in the chest by his girlfriend's former boyfriend, sending children screaming and dashing for cover.
Street Artist Wants Photos of You and His Girlfriend
A street artist named Ry (aka Olympia) emails in asking for a little help with his girlfriend's birthday present, seems he needs the community's participation to yield successful results.
Here's the story: My girlfriend moved to Connecticut from Greenpoint last year. She misses it terribly, and constantly pines for the days spent with friends in the neighborhood. So, for her birthday this weekend, on Sunday night I installed a life-sized cutout of her at the southeast corner of Franklin and Noble Streets in Greenpoint. I am asking anyone who can to go to Greenpoint and photograph themselves with the Birthday Girl, and then, email or pix message the photo to birthdaygirl08 (at) gmail (dot) com. Soon she will have an entire album of images of herself and many, many friends partying in Greenpoint!A very...wishful idea, with good intentions, but we're guessing this piece is going to end up with some not-so-nice birthday messages on it by week's end. Will the effort get the girl back to Greenpoint, or will the street artist be left with nothing but a wood cutout? Either way, keep up with the progress as photos are posted at this Flickr account.
MTA Is Family Friendly with Free-ZPasses
"Uncompensated" MTA board members are not the only ones benefiting from a policy of free E-ZPasses. As the board found it necessary to pass toll and fare hikes to regular commuters, it made sure that not only were they insulated from the cost of traveling around NYC, but their wives were as well. One member even gave his girlfriend an all-inclusive Metro-North rail pass. The value of these perks is in the thousands of dollars annually for each individual.
