The wedding season is in full swing: Second week in a row where there are over 30 weddings in the NY Times Weddings & Celebrations section. Here we go:

Skating_on_the_Lullwater_1886.jpgA few days ago, Gowanus Lounge reported that Prospect Park is getting a $25 million skating facility with two rinks – one for hockey and one for recreational use. The plan was presented by Prospect Park Alliance President Tupper Thomas at a recent Park Slope Civil Council meeting.

Almost two years ago, Governor George Pataki helped to lay the 20-ton, Adirondack granite cornerstone for the Freedom Tower. And it wasn't until just this past month that the financial bickering between Larry Silverstein and the Port Authority were finally sorted out so construction could begin in earnest.

A great day of college football, including a number of top 25 match-ups, caused some real movement in our poll this week (last week). Look for another great Saturday of college football action this week as Oklahoma meets Texas and Cal travels to USC.
