Last week, rapper G-Dep was indicted after confessing to a 1993 murder. And while you may think the victim's family would be happy that justice will finally be served, one relative thinks G-Dep was "an idiot" to confess. The victim's stepbrother, Robert Henkel, told the Post, "He has three kids and a wife. It was years and years and years ago. Finally, we're not always thinking about it...and now it has to be dug up all again." He also said that if he hadn't confessed he "might have made something of his life." Or at least have been able to eat more than one ounce of jelly a day.

G-Dep Indicted For 1993 Murder
Trevell "G-Dep" Coleman, the rapper who inadvertently admitted to a 1993 cold-case murder last week, has been indicted and now faces 25 years to life in prison for the crime. He reportedly did not know that the victim, whom he shot three times in the chest, had died from the injuries, but decided to admit to the shooting after being prompted by a 12-step narcotics program. On the bright side, we're sure the video for his 2001 single "Let's Get It" featuring P.Diddy has been getting a lot of hits!

Shortly before he (inadvertently) confessed to a 17-year-old murder, Trevell Coleman, AKA rapper G-Dep, rapped with Chi King on the single "On My Way." The single will be released on January 25th, and Protekted Records says that a portion of the single's sales will be donated to the victim's family...if they can find them. Owner Jon Gornbein said, "if we can't find them, we'll make a donation in his honor to an appropriate charity that is against guns and violence." Chi King wrote on Twitter, "my prayers go to g dep an his family~ god does not abandon those who seek him."
Rapper Wasn't Aware He Was Confessing To Murder
Apparently when Trevell Coleman, AKA rapper G-Dep, came clean to police about shooting a man in the chest in 1993, he may not have known that he was confessing to killing a guy. He told the Post in a jailhouse interview, "I was surprised -- for some reason, I really didn't think that he died. When they told me, I was like, 'Oh, I'm not going home after this.'" He has now been charged with murder, and faces life in prison.
