Female Passenger Strips Naked Mid-Flight To JFK

Female Passenger Strips Naked Mid-Flight To JFK

In case you've set your RSS feed only to Justin Bieber-related information for the past couple months, people have been none too chipper about the TSA full-body scanners and full-body pat downs which have taken over our airports this holiday season. But one woman didn't find getting digitally naked to be satisfyingly invasive enough; she took it a step further, and stripped naked mid-flight on a plane from Chicago to JFK last night. And worst of all, she broke the first rule of doing-something-crazy club, and did it in front of a reporter! more ›

Guy Shows Up in Boxers As Fliers Opt Out Of Opt-Out Day

Guy Shows Up in Boxers As Fliers Opt Out Of Opt-Out Day

There were virtually no delays yesterday as a result of the National Opt-Out Day protest. Most of the delays reported at airports were weather-related, with high winds causing some problems around New York. A Spirit Airlines computer crash caused hour-long lines at LaGuardia and elsewhere, but for the most part yesterday was not The Worst Travel Day Nightmare Apocalypse of the Year Ever that everyone feared. "I don't care about the machine," Long Island's Drew Davis complacently told the Post at LaGuardia. "I think all the protesting about the machines is a little ridiculous. It's all for safety." But one local blogger and ad man wasn't about to roll over and let all the publicity pass him by—Jason Rockwood showed up at LaGuardia wearing just an undershirt, boxer shorts, and slip-on shoes. Here's why: more ›

Bloomberg: Get Over Yourself, Let TSA Touch Your Junk

Bloomberg: Get Over Yourself, Let TSA Touch Your Junk

Concerned about the TSA's new porno-scanners and enhanced labia-fondling pat-downs? Mayor Bloomberg says shut up and spread 'em. Hizzoner claims he even got a pat-down himself—before boarding a private flight in D.C. He described the experience as a reminder "that we live in a dangerous world" and told reporters yesterday, "We have to stop all this shilly-shallying and understand if you want to be safe on airplanes we have to make sure that we keep you safe. If you have a better idea, call Janet Napolitano. I'm 100% in sympathy. She wants to make sure we're safe." As do the TSA screeners, who would like you to know that they're not getting off on seeing you naked or touching your junk. more ›

TSA Promises No Cavity Search, Poll Shows Scanner Support

TSA Promises No Cavity Search, Poll Shows Scanner Support

Good news! As invasive as the TSA's new "enhanced" pat-downs may be, this is as far as they're going to go. Yesterday TSA Chief John Pistole definitively stated, "We're not going to get in the business of doing body cavities. That's not where we are." It's great news for those of us who like to keep our cavities to ourselves, and also great news for butt bombers. But with National Opt-Out Day just hours away, a recent poll shows that a majority of Americans are okay with the full body imaging scanners. And if you're in the minority and planning to opt-out in protest, the TSA wants you know that you'll be required to submit to the pat-down, or face an $11,000 fine. more ›

3 Women Say TSA Screeners Groped Vaginas During Pat-Down

3 Women Say TSA Screeners Groped Vaginas During Pat-Down

We're now aware of three separate incidents in which TSA screeners have allegedly touched travelers vaginas during the new "enhanced" pat-downs. To recap: A blogger in Dayton, Ohio says a TSA employee at a Dallas airport touched her breasts, buttocks, vagina area and "both of my labia"; an elementary schoolteacher from Washington says, "I didn’t really expect her to touch my vagina through my pants"; and today an ABC News employee claims she was subject to a "demeaning" search at Newark Liberty International Airport Sunday morning. This one's the worst: more ›

Photos: How Your TSA Pat-Down Will Look On Opt-Out Day

On Wednesday an unknown number of travelers are expected to participate in National Opt-Out Day to protest the controversial full-body imaging scanners by requesting time-intensive pat-downs. WiIl it make pre-Thanksgiving travel even more of a nightmare? "Just one or two recalcitrant passengers at an airport is all it takes to cause huge delays," Paul Ruden, a spokesman for the American Society of Travel Agents, tells CBS 2. "It doesn’t take much to mess things up anyway—especially if someone purposely tries to mess it up." Speaking of messed up, these photos give you a detailed look at what awaits if you decide to forgo the porno scanner for the personalized groping. more ›

City Council Members: Ban Naked Body Scanners

City Council Members: Ban Naked Body Scanners

The movement to ban the so-called "Porno Scanners" at airports got a boost today from a group of City Council members who held a press conference at City Hall in support of legislation to ban the scanners at LaGuardia and JFK airports. To back up their argument that the scanners are as useless as they are invasive, the lawmakers cited Israeli security experts' refusal to install these scanners at Ben Gurion International Airport, which is widely hailed as the safest airport in the world. Rafi Sela, the former Chief Security Officer of the Israel Airport Authority, said he could "overcome the body scanners with enough explosives to take down a Boeing 747." It's probably for the best he didn't elaborate further on that. more ›
