Most are sincere, while a few show up with the goal of poking fun at the demonstrators. But yesterday two men brandishing a video camera and a microphone approached attendees in the park for interviews, telling them they were with The New York Daily News. Following yesterday's tense rally at the Brooklyn Bridge which led to over 700 arrests, hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protesters continued to demonstrate after being released by police. "You go to Italy, you eat gelato. You go to a protest, you expect to be arrested. Nobody gets spooked by the arrests," said Baruch College student Daniel Levine. Fifteen people were arrested at Rye Playland amusement park in Westchester County yesterday afternoon, and two charged with felony assault after a melee broke out when a park employee asked a Muslim woman to remove her headscarf before boarding a ride. The woman who attempted to ride the Dragon Rollercoaster, Haifa Ali, tells Patch that after she was told she couldn't ride unless she removed her hijab, she and a group of other Muslim women went to ask for a refund. Then "someone grabbed her hijab…a park ranger wrestled another one of the women to the ground," when "law enforcement began to converge on the group, hitting them with batons." The internal affairs detective who was tasked with spying on O'Reilly's wife of 15 years, Maureen McPhilmy O'Reilly, tells Gawker's source, "Do you know Bill O'Reilly? I got called into my boss' office saying they wanted me to meet with these two PI's working for O'Reilly …because a detective was having an affair with O'Reilly's wife.'" So last night Rove went on Fox News to say "it is a sign of enormous thin skin that if we speculate about [Palin], she gets upset. In the wake of News Corp's phone-hacking scandal that has forced the closure of a British tabloid and the resignations of two of Rupert Murdoch's most trusted deputies, lawmakers in the US have called on authorities to investigate the American wing of the company that owns The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and FOX Broadcasting Company. Now, according to CNN, US Attorney General Eric Holder says he will look into allegations that the shuttered British paper, News of the World, attempted to hack into 9/11 victim's phones. Following the closure of News Corp-owned British tabloid News of the World after revelations that the paper hacked the cell phones of 9/11 victims, murder victims and dead soldiers, Rupert Murdoch has withdrawn the company's $12 billion bid to take over British Sky Broadcasting, the largest satellite broadcasting company in Britain.
