Should Greg Kelly's Rape Accuser Be Prosecuted?

Should the woman who filed a criminal complaint accusing Greg Kelly of rape herself be charged, now that the DA has declined to prosecute the Good Day New York host? The cop-friendly NY Post certainly thinks so. In addition to splashing her photo across today's front page (headline: "SHADY LADY"), the Post's Andrea Peyser is urging the DA to press charges against the woman, whom the tabloid has identified as Maria Di Toro. Quoth the Peyser: more ›

Greg Kelly's Texts With Rape Accuser Were "Two Days Of Foreplay"

This week, Greg Kelly, son of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and co-host of "Good Day New York," was accused of—but not charged with—raping an unidentified young woman in her Manhattan office. Sources have told the dailies that Kelly had text messages from the woman after the encounter of a "flirtatious" nature, including lines like "‘It was good time? Was it as nice for you? Do you want to do it again?’” Now a Post source is being even more clear-cut about those texts, which occurred both before and after the alleged rape: “The texts were explicit. They were sexual. They talked about what they wanted to do to each other. It was two days of foreplay.” more ›

Greg Kelly's Rape Accuser Has Family Ties To NYPD, Too

This week, Greg Kelly, son of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and co-host of "Good Day New York," was accused of—but not charged with—raping an unidentified young woman in her Manhattan office. It's now been revealed that the rape accuser, a 30-year-old law firm employee who the Post describes as "an aspiring model and actress," also has family ties to the NYPD—the Post reports that her brother is a crime-scene investigator for the NYPD who previously worked in the Internal Affairs Bureau. And it seems she was inspired to report the alleged rape because of Kelly's famous dad encouraging New Yorkers to come forward to report all crimes: “Her boyfriend was telling her, ‘You see, even his father is telling people to report crime,’” a source told DNAinfo. more ›

Sources: Greg Kelly Has "Flirtatious" Texts To Prove Sex Was Consensual

After being accused of—but not charged with—raping an unidentified young woman in her Manhattan office, Greg Kelly—son of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and co-host of a"Good Day New York"—has been laying low. Kelly has denied the allegation through his attorney and not spoken publicly, but behind the scenes, sources have been talking to the press. Yesterday it was revealed that the woman had an abortion after her boozy encounter with Kelly, and now some are saying the Manhattan DA has doubts about the case. Of course, it goes without saying that all these unidentified sources talking to the tabloids may be people inside the NYPD with an interest in protecting the Commissioner's son. Update, 1/28: Now it's reported that the accuser's brother works for the NYPD. more ›

"Healthy" Ice Cream Shop Sues After Fox News Exposes Calorie Discrepancy

Intrepid Fox 5 reporter Arnold Diaz has given us SO MUCH great television with his "Hall of Shame" investigative reports, and what does he get in return for all his dedication to shame? Legal troubles... which we suppose is only to be expected. Last month Diaz confronted Magda Abt, an operator of three D'Lites Emporium ice cream stores on Long Island. With cameras rolling, Diaz attempted to present her with lab results suggesting her "low calorie" frozen dessert contained far more calories and carbs than advertised. Thankfully, Abt's brother soon arrived on the premises to entertain us all, the Strong Island way: more ›

News Corp Yanks Channels 5, 9 From Cablevision

At midnight, News Corp. pulled off WNYW 5 and WWOR 9—also known as channels 5 and 9—from Cablevision, leaving over 3 million people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut in the dark after being unable to come to terms with a contract. Actually, not the dark—Newsday reports that at 12:04 a.m., "screen appeared saying 'in these economic times, demanding $150 million dollars is unfair. Cablevision is willing to accept binding arbitration. We apologize for News Corp.'s action.' A voice-over blamed 'greed' on the Fox parent for pulling the stations." Access-A-Ride Nailed by Local News

Access-A-Ride Nailed by Local News

Fox 5 is really sticking it to the taxpayer-funded Access-A-Ride system, exposing one NYPD Auxiliary Police sergeant's apparent abuse of the system, and busting a driver for flagrant on-the-job napping. The Access-A-Ride program, which is managed by NYC Transit, provides transportation for people with disabilities who can't take the subway or bus. Each trip ends up costing about $66 (most of which is covered by taxpayers) and this year the whole program is expected to cost $451 million—which makes this footage of a cop getting picked up by Access-A-Ride to go march in a parade even more galling! more ›

Former Fox Reporter Pleads Guilty To Crashing into Horse

Though former Fox 5 TV reporter Mike Sheehan originally said "neigh" to charges that he was drunk when he drove into a mounted police officer in March, yesterday he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol. Sheehan drove into the horse and cop on Varick Street in Tribeca, leaving the cop with a bruised leg and the horse with cuts, bruises and scrapes; he refused to take a Breathalyzer test after the accident. In true Fox news style, Sheehan had claimed that the horse was actually to blame for colliding with him. more ›

If the operation had ever seemed a little shady to you, well, it probably is. Diaz digs up the questionable tax filing from the group's president, Steven Riley, and confronts him in Union Square about it. Things get shamelessly physical. more ›

Video: Ernie Anastos Drops F-Bomb Chicken Combo On Air

Veteran NYC news anchor Ernie Anastos, who currently appears on MyFoxNY (channel 5)'s 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. broadcasts, spiced things up last night. Gawker explains, "Perhaps overloaded by transitive small talk between the weather report and a commercial break, Anastos — who once said 'dot cock' on live television — told meteorologist Nick Gregory that 'it takes a tough man to make a tender forecast,' and then, to the utter shock and appall of his co-anchor, Dari Alexander continued, 'Keep fucking that chicken.'"
