What with Pacific Standard’s North Slope location, their blog, their robot blog, and their faux-formal alternative title (Jon & John's House of Starchy Living and Temperance Den), the Fourth Avenue watering hole seems determined to become the McSweeney’s of bars. Now they’ve taken their clever eccentricity one step further with a Frequent Drinker Card Program, which gives patrons something in return for their consumption beyond inflated self-worth and unwanted pregnancies. Each patron who joins pays......

Kudos to The Real Deal for coaxing DUMBO-based designer Robert Scarano out of the shadows. One of the city's most reviled architects, Scarano has been scrutinized by Department of Buildings for his safety and zoning violations. Following a summer outcry, the agency issued stop-work orders on some Scarano sites. He's even being investigated by the NYS Department of Education, which oversees licensed architects, but there is currently no record of disciplinary action. Overseeing a whopping......

-- According to Bruce Ratner, all the city papers are hugely in favor of the Atlantic Yards project. And why would he lie? -- The Times has some very moving coverage of the funeral of one of the shooting victims in the Queens Rampage case. -- The Roosevelt Island Tramway (now equiped with advanced bucket pee-system) goes back into action on Friday. -- This shot of squirrels snuggling is redonkulicious. -- PLG is claiming......

Didn't get tickets to the sold out Flaming Lips show at Webster Hall tonight? We have good news. Wayne and the boys will be playing a free show at Prospect Park tomorrow afternoon...in celebration of this great weather we're having. Psych. We're just getting in to our April Fool's Day mindset. Here are some things that are really happening this weekend: COMEDY: What could be better than starting off April Fool's weekend with Michael Showalter,......

The Daily News has a subway exclusive: - The N train from Coney Island once again will run express through much of Brooklyn to midtown Manhattan, using the Broadway line after crossing the bridge. That express route was halted in April 1986. - The B train will run express from Brighton Beach on the Brighton line, cross over the bridge and run express through Manhattan to 59th St. along the Sixth Ave. line. It will......
