On January 12th, 2011, we caught our first glimpse of a girl dancing on the Staten Island Ferry. Intrigued, we wanted to know more, and quickly found out the video was just a teaser for what would be a 70-minute music video filmed around New York City, and set to the tune of Girl Talk's All Day album. Now here we are, almost a year later, to the date, delivering the final chapter of Girl Walk//All Day.
Video Exclusive: It's The Girl Walk // All Day Finale (And The Full Movie!)
So That Happened: LOST Ended
Happy Day After LOST Day! (Spoilers ahead, for those who haven't seen it yet.) So what did you think of the finale: was it more Cosby Show (which according to this article had a series finale “no one remembers at all") or more Sopranos (which you can likely replay back in your head on command)?
Guiding Light Goes Out
Say goodbye to your stories... well, the story of Josh and Reva at least. Guiding Light is going off the air after 72 years and many story lines only a soap opera could embrace (cloning! time travel!). The Daily News gives the farewell a double article treatment; one focusing on GL's late writer (the "mother of stories") Irna Phillips, and the other on the show's final days as it leaves the airwaves. They note that audiences may not have time for hour-long shows anymore, and As the World Turns may be the next victim of our busy schedules. As for The Light, it will officially go out after airing its final episode this Friday at 10 a.m., and surely Mayor Bloomberg will even shed a tear. Did you know that it's been filming in New York City since 1949? Pat Kiernan has a farewell video.
Project Runway Finalists Forced to Hide at Fashion Week
Even though there hasn't been any glimmer of Project Runway's upcoming sixth season on the television, the finale took place under the tents as part of Fashion Week earlier today. Following Harvey Weinstein's decision to move the show from Bravo to Lifetime, NBC Universal (who owns Bravo) filed suit against him and his company, leaving the show in limbo while the legalities get sorted out. But the show must go on, even if it can't air, so host Heidi Klum introduced the collections today and told the audience it was “a little bit sad for the designers” to not be able to show their faces after so much hard work. EW reports back saying the show was packed with "chunky sweaters, metallics, silky tops, and skinny pants," but the "wow" moments were in short supply. If you want a sneak peek, images from the runway are already out there.
TRL Takes a Bow
While the death rattle has been audible for quite some time, Viacom only officially announced Total Request Live's retirement in September, and yesterday they officially faded to black.
Project Runway Finale and Favorites
Last night Project Runway ran its season 5 finale, also the last season to be aired on Bravo (next time around it'll be over at Lifetime). The three contestants left standing were Kenley, Korto and Leanne (though Joe and Jerrell also got to show collections). The spoilers are after the jump incase you haven't watched it yet, but from what you saw or what you are seeing now: who do you think deserved to win?
Project Runway 4: Finale Time
Even though there wasn't a "villain" along the lines of Santino Rice or a favorite like Michael Knight, the fourth season of Project Runway has been pretty captivating with some very lovely work. Tonight, the three remaining designers' Bryant Park Fashion Week face-off will be shown and a winner announced.
