This week’s new movie releases are all about men behaving badly, and of course the women who put up with their crap. Though if that's not what you're into there's always some good Irish beer or Korean kimchee to tempt your movie palate.

Another week, another slew of choices for New York film lovers. We reach the half-way point of the 43rd New York Film Festival this weekend. We've already presented some coverage from the fest, and there will be more to come tomorrow, and through the very busy weekend and next week at Alice Tully Hall, the Film Society of Lincoln Center's annual celebration of the best of world cinema will continue to dominate the attention of local cinephiles, but there's actually plenty of other stuff going on around the city that's worth your time.

The MOMA presents Miramax: 25 Years, showcasing such favorites as City of God, an intriguing and fast-paced look at Brazil’s slum gang wars, Friday @8:30 PM; Kieslowski’s classic Blue, White, and Red, starting Saturday @4:30 PM; Kill Bill, Vol. I on Sunday @ 2:00 PM and Kill Bill, Vol. 2 on Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Not only does the article outline the issues with the Angelika, it's also like a State-of-Arthouse-Cinemas-in-New-York. The Angelika was able to make its name 14 years ago as the leader in cutting-edge film programming, but in recent days, it seems so unbearable are the many other options to see niche films: The Sunshine, BAM, even the huge multiplexes on 42nd Street with so many screens they can kick one over to independent comers.
