NYC Comptroller John Liu's hopes of running for mayor in 2013 are being thrown into question as the federal authorities' investigation into his campaign fundraising has resulted in the arrest of one of his fund raisers on fraud charges. Cops Probed For Faking Mental Illness For Social Security
As if getting to do MMA fighting despite getting pension for "lung problems" wasn't sketchy enough, the Post reports on a "PENSION EXPLOSION," where some retired NYPD officers are being investigated for allegedly faking mental illness to get an extra $3,500 a month Social Security benefits. Though they were deemed sane enough to carry guns during their careers, the cops in question are being targeted by the feds, and have set off a corruption probe. House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. Spokeswoman Jenny Rosenberg told the Daily News, "The chairman said he is deeply concerned about the reports and he intends to hold a hearing in Brooklyn on this soon to get to the bottom of this matter."

But who said that getting answers from a vampire squid was going to be easy?

Last week, the Reverend Al Sharpton announced he hired a former U.S. Attorney as the feds continue to investigate his National Action Network's finances. The announcement comes on the heels of many of his corporate donors being subpoenaed.
