A two-year-old girl was tragically killed by an SUV driving down 211th Street in Queens yesterday after she strayed into the street while her grandmother and aunt's backs was turned. Neighbor and witness Yvonne Mckenzie called 911 after she saw the girl, Shamira Zaman, lying in the street and heard her family's screams. She told the Post, "Then they picked her up and put her on the grass. I saw the baby lying there. There was a little blood on her right forearm and right wrist but it wasn’t much. Then I ran inside and called 911."

Drunk Driver Causes Crash, Killing Another Driver
Early yesterday morning, the driver of a minivan was killed when a drunk driver crashed into him near in lower Manhattan. The Daily News has details on the terrible crash: Around 4:41 a.m., Long Island resident Brandon Connelly's "2005 Audi hit a Chevy Tahoe on the southbound lanes of the FDR Drive on the lower East Side. As the SUV smashed into a concrete barrier, the Audi bounced off - only to crash into a minivan near the Brooklyn Bridge exit." The minivan's 50-something driver died at Bellevue and four of his passengers had minor injuries. Connelly was charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and DWI.
Pedestrian Chased by Truck, Killed by Second Driver
Suffolk County police are trying to find the driver who apparently chased a man into traffic early yesterday morning. Timothy Broderick, 42, was hit by a car driven by 19-year-old Christopher Martinez on Route 25 and Depot Road in Huntington Station. Police say Broderick was chased onto the road by a silver Dodge pickup. Martinez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, but police say he had nothing to do with the chase, "He was just a motorist on the road."
5-Year-Old Boy Killed in Queens Car Accident
A 5-year-old boy was ejected from a Ford Escape when a BMW crashed into it around 1a.m. this morning. According to police, the accident occurred at 109th Avenue and 164th Place.
