Justin Bieber And Other Famous People Were All In The Same Place Last Night

Justin Bieber And Other Famous People Were All In The Same Place Last Night

Last night Dolce & Gabbana held a Fashion's Night Out party and you weren't invited, and neither were we! But that didn't stop them from asking us to post these photos from the event today. They tell us, "Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun hosted the event" which included attendees Lala and Carmelo Anthony, Sophia Bush, Katie Couric, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Karen Elson, Ellie Goulding, Ice-T, Dayssi Kanovas, Rose McGowan, Usher Raymond, Leann Rimes, Anna Wintour, and some other people. Women sidled up to the lipstick bar! Men sat down at the grooming bar! We were at home contemplating what to make for dinner! All in all, an amazing night for everyone (we went with a leftover faux gras doughnut). more ›

Alert: Justin Bieber Will Make Madison Avenue Unbearable Tonight

Dolce & Gabbana have announced their special Fashion's Night Out guest this evening will be Justin Bieber—but even though the night is supposed to be for the people, the company is keeping their event RSVP-only. However, our inside source at the Common Sense Headquarters tells us that the Beliebers will show up uninvited, and with their vocal chords all warmed up for hours of shrieking. (The party will be at their Madison Avenue boutique, kids.) more ›

A Brooklyn Dog Preps Us For Tomorrow Night's Canine Fashion Show

A Brooklyn Dog Preps Us For Tomorrow Night's Canine Fashion Show

Humans and cats have long ruled the runway, but over the past few years canines have also made the catwalk their own, as unnatural as that may be. Tomorrow night the trend continues as Bergdorf Goodman hosts its annual dog fashion show, and while we're ardent followers of the canine fashion scene—this is actually the second dog fashion show we'll be attending this year—we're no experts. So with that in mind, we reached out to Birdie, a dog in Brooklyn, for some insight. more ›

[UPDATE] Fashion's Night Out Date Changed Because Of 9/11

[UPDATE BELOW] Just 281 days left until the next Fashion's Night Out! It would be 283 days, but because of concerns over security downtown on the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the annual night of shopping "to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry's economy" is getting bumped to September 8th instead of the usual September 10th. Mayoral spokesman Andrew Brent told DNAinfo that the 1st Precinct worried about having enough people to monitor both events. "There were multiple events last year and that was something that was raised by the precinct. It was likely a staffing issue that became moot when they moved it." more ›

More Photos From Fashion's Night Out

A few Gothamist readers were out and about for Fashion's Night Out, complete with celebrity sightings and semi-naked ladies. We're really hoping those ice cream bar shorts that Pharrell is rocking are the next big thing, and some of that Desigual underwear looks pretty cute. By the way, what's the over/under on Lady Gaga wearing that black lingerie getup to a Yankees game? more ›

The City Goes Shopping For Fashion's Night Out

             + 15 more

Last night marked yet another night of synergy between designers and shoppers as Fashion's Night Out inspired New Yorkers to buy all night long at some of the city's hottest stores. Created by Vogue editrix Anna Wintour, NY1 describes the night as "meant to unite designers and retailers for one special night to put some sparkle back in the eyes of shoppers—and to get them off the streets and into the stores" all around the world. It also allowed for some more outlandish behavior on the part of Naomi Campbell. more ›

Fashion's Hangover After a Big Night Out

Ernest Hemingway once wrote the saddest story in just six words, but we might have a new contender after last night's Fashion's Night Out extravaganza: Wintour wears t-shirt to Queens Mall. While editrix Anna's tale may not be as sad as "For sale: baby shoes, never worn," it's certainly comically tragic enough. The Vogue editor organized the worldwide event, getting A-list to D-list to no-listers all out to spend their cash at retailers—or at least show up to be a part of the scene, which NY Mag's Cut Blog said was "like Mardi Gras but with smaller boobs and pricier beads." more ›

Bloomberg, Wintour Celebrate Shopping this Fall

Bloomberg, Wintour Celebrate Shopping this Fall

Incase you were already thinking about back-to-school shopping, Mayor Bloomberg has announced a shopping event in September that will coincide with Fashion Week, called Fashion's Night Out. On September 10th, retailers in all five boroughs will stay open until 11 p.m., holding in-store events. The Mayor even has Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour on his side, though she'd never shop off the rack. She said the event will help protect the city's fashion "creativity and diversity." The overall goal here isn't to make you look pretty, though, it's to support local business, promote tourism and economic activity throughout the city as part of the Administration’s Five Borough Economic Opportunity Plan. The event will also boast a special limited-edition t-shirt with proceeds from sales going to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and shoppers are being encouraged to donate their own clothes at participating stores for the New York City AIDS Fund. Get all the info you need, here, and start stashing away that extra coin in a piggy bank. more ›
