Video: Fan Kicks Usher In Face At MSG
Remember when you were swag-walking home from the Usher concert at MSG on Monday night, hoping someone caught the performer getting kicked in the face on video? Well someone did, and now we can all be a part of the awkward moment thanks to YouTube. The kick was accidentally delivered by a fan during some super weird role-play bit, where Usher brings a lady on stage and sings to her whilst she lays in his arms on a chaise lounge. It's all very romance novel meets ottoman humping. Anyway, she kicked him, but as EW points out, he took it in stride, telling the audience: “We play rough in the bed. We kick each other in the face and all kind of good stuff.” See for yourself around the 9:15 mark, it's almost as good as the classic short, Man Getting Hit By Football.
First Snow of the Year!
Did you see it? No, not the face in the satellite image. Did you see the snow? A brief flurry was witnessed in Harlem around 7:30, and a reader reports seeing flakes further downtown this morning. Measurable snow fell not too far away in Connecticut. Another round of flurries or sleet is possible early this afternoon, but the city is much more likely to see rain thanks to a backwards moving low pressure system.
Brooklyn Face Slashing Victim: "Violence is Not the Way"
"My face is too beautiful to be fighting," Shantayah Lewis told reporters from a bed in Kings County Hospital. "Fighting is not the key. Violence is not the way." On Friday the 17-year-old and her 15-year-old cousin were targeted by at least one aggressive assailant on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, reports the News. Lewis said she and Shakeena Grant were out near Lincoln Place around 3:30 p.m. when they noticed a girl they knew behind them. "She kept following us," the victim said, adding that the girl was dating the ex-boyfriend of another one of their cousins. "She wanted to fight."
Credit Cards Boost Some Cab Drivers' Income
It seems that after months of threatening, chasing and punching passengers who insist on paying with plastic, some city cab drivers have come to love the new credit card devices, which will be in all taxis by the end of August. Their original objections were to the 5% transaction fee, but now drivers are reporting higher tips because of the way the machines display the tipping options.
Cabbie Punches Woman in Face for Choosing Plastic
An East Village woman says she was punched in the face by an unhinged cabbie when she insisted on using the taxi’s credit card machine to pay her fare. Tamara Perez had arrived outside her apartment when she realized she was out of cash, so she told the driver she’d be paying with plastic using the self-automated card reader installed in the back.
