Hot on the heels of the Met returning the fabled Euphronios krater to Italy the NYPD and Christies have returned the head of Bacchus to the Mediterranean boot-state.

In game one, Mike Mussina gave up three runs in the first inning and the Yankees managed only one run and three hits off Johan Santana. Lucky for the Yankees, the Twins have already clinched. Santana was pulled after five innings to rest for the playoffs which begin next week. After Santana left, the Yankees were free to have their way with them - okay, not really, but they notched four runs in the 7th inning and went on to win 5-3 (box score).

According to the Olympics site, shooting is very popular, "Shooting is considered one of the most popular sports internationally. It requires good physical and psychological condition, as well as technical perfection. It is open to men, women and children of all ages for recreation."

Sunday, scores of Americans were celebrating Independence Day, but Greeks we all watching the European Championships finals. Greece was a 100-1 long-shot to win the tournament, but pulled off a miracle. They defeated heavily favored, and host country, Portugal, 1-0. Greece was at 100-1 for good reason. Entering the tournament, they had never won a game in major competitions.
