Pop quiz: You are a still-young but decidedly former starlet now more famous for your troubles than your talent, and last seen posing nude for Playboy, what do you do now? Is that really a question? Time for a Lifetime movie, baby! Especially if you can play former Hollywood royalty. Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play no less than Elizabeth Taylor in a made-for-basic-cable movie. Schadenfreude never felt so good.

Liz Taylor, Michael Jackson and Marlon Brando Went On A Post-9/11 Road Trip
We've heard lots of tales of how people left New York City after 9/11 and we sort of thought the book on that particular genre was closed. But then Vanity Fair came and blew it back open. According to the magazine one of America's greatest tragedies led to possibly the most surreal road trip we've ever heard of. Oh, to have been a fly on the windshield of the rental car that Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando drove from New York to Ohio en route to California!

NY Times Compares Snooki To Elizabeth Taylor
With Jersey Shore set to return to the small screen this Thursday for a second season, the cast is all over the press. NJ Governor Chris Christie says the show is negative for New Jersey; in a recent interview he explained, "I mean, because what it does is takes a bunch of New Yorkers—most of the people on Jersey Shore are New Yorkers ... [and] drops them at the Jersey Shore, and tries to make Americans feel like this is New Jersey." Meanwhile, the NY Post says other cast members are fed up with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's massive ego, and hopes he leaves the show. But what about Snooki? She got her own Gray Lady profile over the weekend!
Pencil This In
SIGNING: If there is one person we could think of that doesn't need an autobiography...it might as well be Rupert Everett. Yet, he'll be signing his new book "Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins: The Autobiography" tonight. He wasn't just in "My Best Friends Wedding", he was also friends with Warhol and has been to easter egg hunts in Elizabeth Taylor's garden. Fabulous.
Get That Kate Hepburn Fix
If Cate Blanchett's Oscar-nominated performance as the incomparable Kate Hepburn in The Aviator had you hungering for some of that original patrician flavor, head to MoMA this weekend. As a part of a tribute to director George Stevens, the museum will be screening the Hepburn/Tracy classic, Woman of The Year on Saturday at 8 pm. The original "they hate-each-other, they-love-each-other" rom com with Hep and Trac as warring journalists, it's a must. Aren't journalists in the movies so sexy?

Liza and David - On the rocks
And they seemed so happy! Sigh, another storybook romance turned separation. Poor Liza. Man, is this what happens when Michael Jackson is best man and Elizabeth Taylor is matron of honor? And Cindy Adams is one of the bridesmaids? And David Hasselhoff and Gene Simmons are on the invite list? Maybe Gothamist is wrong in thinking that those things actually line up to summon the devil, Ninth Gate style. Maybe there was just too much passion in that marriage.
