Glen at The Oil Drum announces that two greenmarkets on the Upper East Side were approved to go forward yesterday. Glen has been supporting the greenmarkets since October, but worried that local opposition (from Eli Zabar, kind of Upper East Side delicacies, and people worried about...rats) might quash the effort. He observes that having opinions isn't enough - if you support - or oppose - something, you need to show up and have your voice heard.

Around since 1973, E.A.T. has doubled its restaurant size and grown as a catering business as well. In this time, it has become a mainstay for everyone from "ladies who lunch" to UES weekend brunchers. Gothamist had been hearing great things about this place for a while now and decided to pay a visit, finally, while venturing to the UES to see some art. Sunday brunch at E.A.T. would make for a nice little reward after wending our way through a crowded museum.
