Columbia University Coke Dealer Now Kickin' It At City College

Columbia University Coke Dealer Now Kickin' It At City College

One former-Ivy Leaguer won't have to sell nearly as much cocaine to cover the costs this semester as he enrolls at City College, where annual tuition is 88 percent cheaper than at neighboring Columbia University. But it's unlikely Michael Wymbs will be slinging anytime soon if he knows what's good for him—he's taking a plea deal that includes five years probation and court-ordered drug treatment. more ›

Mean Judge Wants Drug Dealing On Ex-Columbia Students' Records

Mean Judge Wants Drug Dealing On Ex-Columbia Students' Records

Two of the former Columbia University students busted for selling drugs in the NYPD's Operation Ivy League last year had a very disappointing day in court today. A mean judge decided that alleged drug dealers Jose Perez and Michael Wymbs can't enroll in a pretrial diversion program that would have kept them out of prison (and cleaned their records if they made it through). Another student, Chris Coles, was allowed to enter the program while a fourth's lawyer asked for more time before the judge makes the decision. Meanwhile the pair's lawyers say that the boys are being mistreated by a judge looking to punish some rich kids from a famous school. more ›

TSA Agents, Police Officers, Busted In Interstate Oxy Ring

If the TSA had a face we'd like to think it would be so red right now. But then we remember that the TSA just doesn't care. Because beyond the whole ongoing profiling issue, it seems that once again agents for the Administration have been caught getting paid off to let drug dealers fly freely with their wares. Authorities today announced that they've caught TSA officers in Florida in New York conspiring to ship tens of thousands of Oxycodone pills north. In total the U.S. Attorney's Office today says it has arrested three TSA officers, a Westchester County police officer and a Florida state trooper and seven Connecticut residents who bought drugs. more ›

Columbia Drug Dealer Takes Plea Deal, Minimal Jail Time

Columbia Drug Dealer Takes Plea Deal, Minimal Jail Time

Harrison David, one of the suspended Columbia students charged with dealing drugs from the school's frats, pled guilty to selling cocaine today. David was the only one of the five students arrested last December to be charged with dealing coke and as such faced the harshest penalties (the others have their own plea deals on the table). He will most "likely spend only 3 1/2 months of his sentence at Rikers Island as a result of time served and good behavior," according to his attorney. more ›

Corrupt Cop Helped Run Bronx Coke Ring

Corrupt Cop Helped Run Bronx Coke Ring

A Bronx cop faces a life sentence for using his status as a police officer to help his friend run a cocaine ring. Officer Juan Acosta is accused of aiding his longtime buddy Yorick Rafael Corneil-Perez in distributing drugs by stealing cash from a rival drug courier while pretending to be on police business, providing tips about which streets would be lightly patrolled by officers, and transporting what he believed to be 22 pounds of cocaine from Long Island to the Bronx. more ›

FIT Students Busted For Drug Dealing Get Probation

FIT Students Busted For Drug Dealing Get Probation

The two Fashion Institute of Technology students who were busted last December for coke dealing (to undercover cops, no less) were given probation for their felony cocaine possession raps. However, Mackenzie Dippenworth was unhappy with being branded a felon, saying, "It's the ugliest, most disgusting word in the entire language," adding, "I look in here, and I don't see a felon. I don't. I see a girl who made a mistake." more ›

Report: Some Buildings Inspectors Took Bribes, Dealt Drugs

The Post reports that at least six Department of Buildings employees "will be arrested later this month, along with about two dozen Luchese crime-family captains, soldiers and associates." Ooh, another mob sweep. Apparently the Buildings inspectors, two of whom are "full-blown Luchese associates," "were videotaped taking bribes at construction sites, and some were seen dealing cocaine and prescription pills while on duty" and "lined their pockets by ignoring violations or expediting construction and building work permits." And the revelations emerged from a 2007 case in NJ, where some members of the Luchese crime family "ran a staggering $2 billion-a-year gambling operation and supplied drugs and cellphones to Bloods gang members in state prisons." Guess the DOB's new code of conduct is coming in handy. more ›
